Pulled a Hip

Anyone else get this terrible sensation in the middle of the night? It feels just like a pulled muscle, but in the hip. What do you do for relief?

Re: Pulled a Hip

  • My hips are sore because I now laying on my side when I sleep at night. What I found helps me is multiple pillows and my body pillow. I am constantly rearranging them to make myself more comfortable, but I find a pillow between my legs helps most with hip pain.

    Hope you find some relief!

  • Try making a pillow bed to sleep on. Pillows under your hip, and around your hip. Also try stretching the hip out before bed.
  • My hips (especially my left one) hurt all of the time, but I've noticed that recently, they have felt like they are not attached to my body in addition to being painful.
  • The last few days I have been sleeping with a pillow under me and then the one inbetween my legs. This has made all the difference!
  • I'm also in a pillow between the knees club.

I also sleep the most comfortably on memory foam. DH and I have a firm mattress and I usually love it but not so much lately where I'm sleeping in the same position for hours and hours. When he snores really badly, I move to a guest room that has a memory foam topper and my hips aren't as sore the next AM. I'm not willing to move over for good because I'd miss him. :(
