I know I just did my whole newbie post yesterday and talked about how I got my AF and all that jaz. Well I had a dr appointment today because I've been pretty sick to my stomach for a week now. Not being able to eat and stomach pain. Went to the dr and guess what, I'm pregnant. This would normally be a good thing except they are calling it a threatened miscarriage since I've been bleeding. My "period" was different this time than it was before but I've also had some intense bleeding. DH and I had intercourse last night which ended in a lot of blood when I hadn't been bleeding before. I woke up this morning with bad abdominal pain which is why I headed to my Dr. He said I should be about 5 weeks along now and it would be too early to do a sono. Had blood work done today and will go back on Thursday to repeat tests. Since my appointment I've started spotting again. I don't even know what to think. I want to be happy but not get my hope up. I just kind of feel numb.

FWIW, I went to the ER for spotting bright red blood at 11 weeks when I was pregnant with DS. They did an ultrasound and he was ok, of course, but my paperwork said "threatened miscarriage". When I asked, they said that ANY bleeding during pregnancy is labeled that way and not to fret.

I'm so sorry you're going through this and hope everything works out. Like Emerald said, any bleeding like yours during pregnancy is generally coded as a threatened miscarriage/threatened abortion.
If you keep having really bad abdominal pain, they should do a transvaginal ultrasound or exam and look for fluid in your abdomen, because acute abdominal pain can be a sign of an ectopic pregnancy and it's better for them to catch that earlier.

TTC #1 8/2012~Chronic Pelvic Pain Condition began 10/2012~Told I was crazy by many doctors until a good specialist DXed a labral tear and bone impingement in left hip 4/2013~Surgery on left hip: 5/31/13 SUCCESS!!! Pain flares to continue indefinitely (but mostly gone).
Resumed TTC 6/2013~Chronic stomach pain and distension: 8/2013~TTA 1/2014 Until Resolved ~7/2014: Trip to the Mayo Clinic--SUCCESS!! Finally on the road to getting better.
Resumed TTC 7/2014! Third time's the charm....8/2014 Visited the RE~DX: MFI/low morph~Straight to IVF with ICSI! 9/2014~Transferred 1 perfect beautiful 6AA blast with 10 to freeze!!!~10/8/2014: BFP!!!! EDD: 6/17/15 STICK LITTLE BEAN!!! IT'S A BOY!!!!!
I will add, that with DD, I bled all the time up until I was closer to 3rd tri. I was told in the ER 3 different times that I WOULD miscarry within the next couple days. She's now a very healthy 2.5 yr old. Good luck.
