Will I ever find Mommy friends?

So today I was strolling Grayson in my neighborhood(I don't venture out much) and I saw these two girls pushing a stroller. I started speed walking to catch up to them(a little stalkerish I know). Right before I caught up to them they pulled out a pack of cigarettes and started smoking all around the baby. I immediately turned around and started walking the other way. Will I ever meet some decent mom's that don't let their babies CIO and give then cereal in their bottle to sleep at 2 weeks old?

    Where you at @danijake617 ? I would (honestly) love to be your IRL mommy friend :) I have only one mommy friend and she lives 6 hrs away...I see all the strolling mommies in the neighborhood and it makes me so sad

    @wasnotwas I wish I was in Florida you would get sick of me. I'm in small suburb outside of Houston. I've been looking for groups but there all about 30+ min away or for older babies.

    My favorite mommy friend I met when my oldest was in preschool. Our daughters got along, but didn't immediately hit it off as well as we did. Lol. Mine is very outgoing and social, and hers was very shy. But, now we are great friends, and so are all of our kids. Her and I actually have almost identical ideas on raising our kids, which is hard to find. Plus, I think that also makes for personality similarities. We are practically the same person, married to practically the same person sometimes. Makes for some funny stories. Lol. It does suck and it does take time. Just keep being awesome and friendly and you never know!

    @wasnotwas I just laughed so hard at the catfishing comment!! We should all meet up after the holidays @amtobey and @babymillersmommy I'd drive to Houston for that :-h

    I have a friend who had twin boys 3/13 and another friend who had a boy 4/13. I've only gotten together with each of them once! Hell, my BFF has a little girl 1/13 and we rarely get together. It's just so much harder when you have kids to get out of the house. It will happen for you soon mama!

    I have one friend that has a baby a month older than joss, but she's very distant and never really attempts to get together with me. I wish all you ladies were here :D

    I went to a buch of mom groups when I was on maternity leave and made friends with some ladies but they all SAH. When I went back to work, we stopped hanging out because our schedules are so different.

    Have you thought about joining a Mommy and Me type class? They have them at places like My Gym, Liitle Gym, and Gymboree. I go to one with a friend and her LO and it's really cute, and a nice way to get out and socialize with other moms.

    Story of my lyfe! Actually, I think my new job is going to help with that a lot, though. Definitely agree with PPs about finding mom groups or breast feeding support groups or something like that.

    Thanks for the support and great ideas ladies I do need to be more proactive with trying to find groups. I SAH so I have a lot of free time no excuse.

    Yeah that!  I met my first mom friends at my son's Little Gym classes when he was around 9 months old.  It gets easier as they do more activities and as you get out to parks and things.  We did 2 year old preschool (down there they may have Mother's Day Out?) and I met some great friends there.  It is hard though.  Never as easy as when you're younger and less tied down.

    I want more mommy friends too! I have a few but only one has a baby like me, the rest have older kids and they work :-\ the nearest mommy group just disbanded which sucks
