2 sacs, 1 baby update

At 8wks 5days I had a free ultrasound done at a local clinic and the nurse (yes she was a nurse) saw 2 sacs but only 1 baby in one of them. the other sac appeared empyt. She said she can't say whether it's twins or not, because she's not supposed to. She said my doc would have to take a closer took to see what's going on.

On Friday, I had my first apt. I was 15wks and 1 day. The doc did an ultrasound and there was no trace of the second sac. There was only one sac, with one healthy baby boy! We were able to clearly see the gender :-) All tho I was secretly hoping it's twins, I am not relieved that it's only one! He said he can't really tell me what the second sac could've been since he didn't see the original ultrasound. He was a lot of pregnancies start out as twins but one never makes it and the moms doesn't even know because she doesn't get an ultrasound early enough to see both twins.
Just wanted to update ya'll as many of you requested an update once I knew something :-)

  • Congratulations on a healthy baby! I have heard that a second disappearing sac is not that uncommon and most people wouldn't know unless they had an early ultrasound. Glad to know you're doing well.
