Men!

Why does hubby text all day at work saying, "I miss lo so much and can't wait to come home and play with her.", when what he really means is, "I can't wait to come home and put lo on my lap facing me while I watch tv." I've called him out on this before....there is only so much I can say/do. It just annoys me, and if feel bad for lo, who is looking at her dad, making eye contact, and he's looking past her at the television. Ugh!

Re: Men!

  • He knows better....he interacts with her during commercials. He is great with her most of the time, but for some reason tonight it really bothered me.

  • You two make valid points. I am grateful to have a husband who loves us both,..maybe just irritable tonight. I just had to vent.

Nothing wrong with venting! Like I said, I've been there. Totally get it.

  • If my baby would let me sit down and watch TV I would do it too. I can see it being irritating, but I don't think it's a huge issue.

  • I get super irritated sometimes with my H abouts things. California said she would rather choose her battles and I fully agree. When DS was born me and H hit a bump in the road and all we did was fight and tell and it was completely not fair for DS. I told myself this time I would try my hardest to be patient and be more understanding instead of freaking out. It's worked.. I have a BAD temper unfortunately and this time around with LO we have been much happier and things are easier. So instead of sweating the small crap, he is still engaging with her right? That is totally better than not at all. Sometimes cuddles are the best thing

  • Thanks ladies! I feel better and put the issue into perspective. Sometimes I can be too critical on hubs...it's still annoying (hah), but not worth getting into an argument or hurting feelings over.

  • I get SUPER annoyed very very easily with DH -mostly bc of the huge imbalance in responsibilities regarding LO right now. But I just try and remember that soon enough DH is going to be able to do much more with her and everything will even out. Dunno if that helps at all - but it calms my crazy brain down more often than not. :)
  • No worries, my DH farted so loud outside LO's open bedroom door tonight and said he did it because "you don't like it when I do it in our room." Um, so almost waking LO up after I put her down is better? We have a semi large house- find somewhere else, or deal with LO when she wakes up. Ugh.
