  • 1. How many weeks? 36 weeks today. RCS in 2 weeks.

    2. Any updates? A/S? Etc? I am getting nervous baby will come on his own before my parents arrive. I have been having a TON of BH.

    3. What kept your spirits up during 2IF? A song? Book? Bible quote? Wine? wine and prayer helped.

    4. Any worries about having a another child in terms of splitting time, other kids reactions, going back to newborn stage, etc? Im worried DD will be upset at lack of attention. She is excited for the baby but she doesnt know what a baby involves

  • We have our 16 week appt on Thursday and I'm starting to realize how fast everything is moving all of a sudden! I had a biopsy done Thursday for a "suspicious" growth on my scalp that the dermatologist thought might be skin cancer. Just one more thing to worry about.

Nothing really kept my spirits up although I did drink a beer every night while making dinner! I cut back on that though after noticing I was putting on weight, plus I was worried it was affecting the fertility situation.

DS isn't super excited about the impending addition. He has asked that we refer to it as a baby kitten for now (his own little adaptation tool, I guess). We did this at first to lighten it up a bit for him, but now I'm referring to it as the baby. He still corrects me by adding "kitten!" afterwards every time. He's old enough to know this is going to impact him a lot and he's nervous about it, I guess!

KK, I can take over the weekly email for you, unless someone else is interested. Which week do you want to be your last one? Can't believe your time is almost here!

    Me: 42. DH: 46.

    1st Pregnancy: MC, 11/19/00.

    2nd Pregnancy: DS born 04/10/06.

    3rd Pregnancy: CP, 03/11.

4th Pregnancy: MMC, D&C 11/30/11, Genetic testing revealed Trisomy 4.

5th Pregnancy: Ectopic, 2 doses of Methotrexate unsuccessful, surgery 4/10/12, right tube removed.

Tried Letrozole January 2013-July 2013 (including 2 IUIs), all BFN.  After 2 1/2 years of trying for child #2, decided to "give up" after July cycle, based on AMA.

August 16, 2013:  BFP our first month of "not trying!"  Still in shock.  Beta #1 (14dpo): 183.  Beta #2 (17dpo):  611.  Ultrasound 8/30/13: baby measured 6 weeks, 1 day, heart rate of 118 bpm!
Ultrasound 9/13/13:  8 weeks, heart rate of 176!
    Baby is due 4/26/14

  • Hi!

    1. How many weeks? 14 weeks

    2. Any updates? A/S? Etc? Nothing major, but the cat is definitely out of the bag with the pregnancy. We've made announcements and even put it on FB this weekend. I alluded to our issues in conceiving. It was really interesting to see how  many people responded privately via message or text to tell me either about their struggles with conceiving their children or how many friends asked questions about infertility as they are in the beginning part of their (hopefully short) journey. Infertility always felt so isolating, but really, so many people seem affected by it! I wish I would have known or at least had people to talk to about it while I went through it.

    3. What kept your spirits up during 2IF? A song? Book? Bible quote? Wine? Bible verses were really important to me. When I'd hear something at Mass, I'd write it down in my journal and reflect on it. It seemed like every week God was speaking to me, I just had to be open to listening to the message. It also helped for me to believe with every ounce of my soul that there was another baby out there for me. I refused to give up hope.

    4. Any worries about having a another child in terms of splitting time, other kids reactions, going back to newborn stage, etc?  DD is so excited that a baby is coming, but truthfully, I don't think she understands at all what that means. I am anticipating a huge transition. It will be hard to give her the attention she will need and also tend to a newborn. It will be helpful to have her in school when the baby comes, and hopefully over summer, we can figure out a system. I have fears about my ability to divide myself up. Do any of you have fears about your love for both children? I feel like the love I have for my daughter is so intense that I'm afraid the baby will always be compared to her.  Then I feel like an ass for even thinking that. I'm hoping that it'll come naturally.

  • KK, I'm sure this is a stupid question, but where the heck are PMs know?  They used to be on the sidebar, down on the left, but it's not there anymore.  Is it "Inbox" under My Profile?  I didn't have anything in there.  Feel like I'm missing something!

  • Can you add me?! :) I'm 11 weeks tomorrow, due 5/27.
No real announcements. I have my second appointment on Wednesday. I know I'm getting blood work, and I'm sure we'll listen to the heartbeat, but I don't remember what else we're doing. We have told close friends and family, but I don't know if/when well ''come out'' on FB.
I had a hard time during 2IF. I confided in DH, and two close friends, but we mostly kept our struggles to ourselves. It was always so hard when AF would rear her ugly head each month. I'm so thankful for modern medicine. It took us a year with an RE and 3 IUI's to conceive this baby.
I don't have any concerns- yet. :) I'm sure as our due date comes closer that will change. I'm hoping we'll be able to establish somewhat of a routine.

  • 1) I'm either 7 or 8 weeks.  By LMP 8 weeks , but at my ultrasound last week the sac and baby were both measuring closer to a week behind. Makes sense, I usually ovulate around CD 20 or 21.

2)Another US tomorrow to better figure out due date and ensure heartbeat is normal.

3)My faith. Praying, hoping. My DH was also an amazing support system. The occasional glasses of wine when AF showed didn't hurt either ;)

4)I haven't thought about any worries yet, I'm just so thankful to be pregnant.

  • Hello,
    I am 29 weeks
I have a second three hour glucose test tomorrow and my ob next week.
I got the circle and bloom cds that helped a lot. I will listen at night and it will help me go to sleep.
I had my DH and family, but my anxiety was still pretty high.

This time I know it will be a bit easier, but harder since I have a three year old. I am very scared and hoping I do a great job. I had horrible post par tum with Zoe, and I hope to enjoy the first few months more with this little girl.
    Good luck to all!
