You can return things you don't like the taste of to the store!!?? I thought that was just a risk of tryimg news things since everyone has different flavor pallets, I thought you'd just eat the cost. My minds boggled right now. But nope sorry haven't tried any, now I did have some Welch's sparkling grape that's in a champagne style bottle and drank it out of a wine glass and was feeling pretty riska on Halloween but that's the extent of my lavish lifestyle.
I've tried FRE but like pintobean says, it just wasn't fun for me. I've been making Shirley temples and putting that in a wine glass and having Odouls during football.

Non-alcoholic wine (or beer) isn't actually "non-alcoholic", it just has a low percentage of alcohol, usually 0.5%. I have a friend who drinks the NA beer and he says he can actually get a buzz drinking more than 2 or 3.
I've never actually tried NA wine, but I think NA beer tastes pretty real. I pretended to drink one at a wedding recently and tossed it because it was weirding me out being so close to real beer taste.
Friday after work was the first time since being pregnant where I was like, I really need a drink! So I picked up a couple of bottles of sparkling grape juice and am drinking it out of a wine glass.
I drink wine spritzers when I'm pregnant and want a glass. Still tastes like real wine, because it is, but the spritzer part (seltzer for me, some like sprite) cuts the amount I'm drinking in half.
I have been wanting a glass of wine or really, a martini. It never crossed my mind to have a non-alcoholic option. Ha. Will do tomorrow during football.
I would always have wine with dinner a few times a week before this PG. My Dr recommends a half glass of red wine twice per week. He said the tannins in the red wine helps with placenta developement. He is European and their views on wine as an accompanyment to dinner is drastically different from the U.S. views of eliminating alcohol completely just to be safe. I am not sure how I feel about the issue, but I can definately see the benefits to both. I haven't had a desire for it, so I haven't imbibed.
I've tried Fre and it was pretty gross. Being that it does have a tiny amount of alcohol anyway id rather have a half of a glass of a good red for the taste. Some NA beers actually aren't that bad. I did a sampler and a few of them I actually liked. The smell is always funky though so don't inhale too much
As for the grape juice question, I believe they actually call it "alcohol removed wine" so it definitely tastes more like wine than juice. That being said I am obsessed with sparkling grape juice and cider. I drink it out of my wine glasses shame it has so much sugar, because I can seriously put away a whole bottle in one sitting.
Ok flame away ladies - I went to a wine Fest last night and had 3 tastings. I mean they were an ounce a piece and I don't feel guilty in the least. I have to say that it tasted so good and soothed the "craving". I am not planning to make this a regular thing but feel like a few sips every once in a while isn't terrible.
No flaming here @aandj28. I don't think a taste or 2 or 3 will hurt the baby. I know for a fact if I make it to my second trimester I will prob have a sip or two when we go out of town for the holidays.
No flame here either, @AandJ28 - when I saw the midwife this week, she definitely said, in her list of things I should avoid, alcohol, but then immediately mentioned that it is common to drink during pregnancy elsewhere and seems to be fine, so she'd leave it there for me.

Ditto My midwife, believe it or not, recommends a bit of wine at the end of pregnancy to help calm women. I plan to have just a littleeeeee bit at Christmas time with my family.

Eta: And wouldn't non alcoholic wine just be grape juice?
