Spotting after pap

Immediately after my Pap smear yesterday I started having some light brown spotting, which didn't concern me too much as I hear this is normal. A few hours later started having some cramping that was a little heavier than usual, which I was thinking maybe because of the MA pushing around with the Doppler (had a perfect heart rate of 163). Now almost 12 hours later I am still having light brown spotting, but it continued after several wipes and a couple times had small tissue like pieces which is REALLY freaking me out because it is the exact spotting that my miscarriage began with in July. Please tell me you girls had similar experiences, I am so nervous and don't know if I can wait to talk to a doctor until Monday

After my ten week appt. I had some bleeding for the rest of the day. My midwife told me that was pretty much toe be expected. If you're really worried though, by all means give them a call; is there some after-hours number you could try?

I had a pap smear around 9 weeks and I had some spotting as well. I remember seeing light pink blood and some small pieces of tissue which freaked me out. It was gone by the next morning. I wouldn't worry about it especially since you heard the heartbeat. If it gets any worse or doesn't stop then I would call your doctor.

I know they say it could be normal but as a pgal mom too any spotting or bleeding would make me nervous too. Call them so u can relax or go to the er if no one is at your ob! Good luck!!

My midwife specifically told me that my cervix was super sensitive when she did my pap. I spotted for about 6 hours. 48 hours after my extensive NT scan (baby would not hold still for measurements), I passed a clot the size of a dime, with very minimal spotting. My midwife wasn't concerned, but you should call your nurse line, they always want me to call if there's anything that concerns me with spotting or clotting.

I had bright red spotting after my pap. I had so much that I needed to wear a pad. I agree with PP, the cervix is super sensitive right now.

If you think it's abnormal, you could always call, but I think it's totally normal. Although, I completely understand your concern.

Nearly the same exact thing happened to me after a pap at my 8 week appointment, but my midwife warned me about it and I stopped spotting after 24 hours. The cervix is super sensitive during pregnancy. If you're concerned, I'd definitely call your doctor to give you some peace of mind, though!

I didn't spot after my pap, but my doctor told me that I probably would. She said do not worry about it unless it lasts longer than a day or two. If I were you, I'd just call Monday morning if it continues through the weekend.

I spotted for like 3 days after my pap and passed a little tissue too. I'm not worried because I have a Doppler so know baby is ok. My doctors office said it can last a few days.

My first pregnancy as soon as I stood up after my pap to get dressed blood was just dripping out! I know how scary it can be but I'm sure it's just coming from your cervix being scraped.

Thanks everyone! Just having a little brown here and there...I was just more concerned because of the increase in cramps, but it sounds like that may be normal too. Really tempted right now to buy a Doppler for some piece of mind (and the few seconds we got to listen at the office was not nearly long enough!!)

I had brown spotting and pretty bad cramps after my pap at 11weeks. My doctor warned me about the spotting, anything brown/pink is supposed to be normal/safe though (which mine was).
