I think it depends on the area. In really hot areas I see a lot of spring and fall weddings to beat the heat but get the good weather. We had a spring wedding off the coast of California.
We had to get married 2 days after Christmas due to hubby being in the military! So we ended up having a winter wedding, and it was not Christmas themed!
We were originally going to be married September 15, 2012 (so I guess a late summer wedding), but then we found out we were expecting DD (due September 12, 2012), so we ended up just getting married through the state on April 23, 2012 with no one really in attendance except my mom, my sister, and a couple friends of his from work who were there to sign as witnesses.
I think that eventually we will have a small organized ceremony with some family and friends so that we get the actual wedding experience. In reality it will just be a renewal of vows obviously, and won't be as extensive (or expensive!) as the one we would have had before. I just really want to be able to wear my dress! I had already paid for that sucker in full and it's still just hanging in our coat closet! ( I'm hoping for a late summer/early fall "wedding" in that case. We had a nice dark purple and orange color scheme going and I think I've still got my heart set on it!
March 2017 September Siggy Challenge: Favorite Fall Things
I voted Spring but realized that technically it was still winter in March when we got married. It felt pretty nice out though so it seemed more like Spring than Winter. Although we did decide if it snowed a lot and guests couldn't make it in we'd invite people in off the street to eat the food and booze and dance and party with us.
Hahahaha gaz!! That's just the funniest thing to me. You see all of the normal answers........ and then gaz. The first time I got married in summer, the second was gaz.

I put spring because it was June 4th 2011 but I live in TN and it was literally 105 degrees that day! Yuck! I had an outdoor ceremony on the front lawn of an antebellum mansion with these gorgeous 200+year old oaks! It was so hot that they set up a water table by the ceremony cite with cucumber/lemon water! Luckily you can't tell how hot it was from the pictures! Lol my poor DH and all the groomsmen in full tuxedos sweating like crazy! I wanted a fall wedding but I was supposed to start law school that year and didn't want to be planning a wedding during L1 (I ended up changing my mind and going to grad school for education instead). Oh well everyone in my family still talks about how much fun it was despite the heat!
I did winter (January). I live by the beach in so cal and people ask me if I did a beach/summer wedding. Hell no! I couldn't be at the mercy of the elements on my wedding day... I didn't want to be sweating my makeup off, have wind messing up my hair, or have a rained on ceremony. We had an indoor ceremony and reception at The Hollywood Roosevelt. The first ever Academy Awards were held in that ballroom in 1929 and we did an old Hollywood theme. It was a beautiful winter wedding!
We got married in a court house November 22, 2012 and planned on having a real ceremony at a later time. That never happened! It's okay though, we don't feel like we need one anymore. We might have one to renew our vows later on down the road.
We had a nightmare before christmas/halloween themed wedding; thr day before halloween because DH was born on halloween. It was lots of fun we also had a bit of luck because the day before we had a snow storm...the next day it was gorgeous. So we had a nice winter/fall wedding lol.

Not going to lie, I am totally jealous!! I love NBC!
We were married on February 25th in our bishops house with about 6 people in attendance, we just wore some nice Sunday dress clothes. Then a year later we had our religious marriage in the LDS temple in Nauvoo, Illinois on March 8th. I wore a wedding dress, he wore a tux. We had a reception and went on a honeymoon.. So the second wedding was the real wedding for us.
Both times there was snow on the ground, I love the snow.
Ours was Nov 1st but I really wanted a December/Christmas wedding but we moved it to get the church. It was a formal evening wedding on a budget. It looked at least twice as expensive as it was. I made my dress, my sister did the flowers, my husband's friend was the DJ. We didn't have a limo. We did a thanksgiving dinner at a place famous for turkey and our second biggest expense was the photographer.
