FFFC!

What sins have you committed? We won't judge, or maybe we will.

Then and now. How did my boy get so big?

Re: FFFC!

  • I told H to grow a pair when he came back inside this morning after seeing it was raining. "I can't take the train in this!" So he drove and I told him he should buck up.

I skin my candy bars. I wish some of them would just come sans chocolate.

  • Loading the player...
  • Skin...your candy bars?  Whut?  No.  No!

I have $160 worth of clothes sitting in my cart on J&J's site.  It's like 2 outfits and a pair of socks.  LOL.  I have a problem.

  • twice this week I have put up gates in my house to only allow A to go in his playroom and the living room and fallen asleep on the couch. His lack of sleep and waking up 1.5-2.5 hours earlier than normal from teeth is coming on top of a point where my longest stretch between night bottles for I has been 5 hours in 12 weeks (usually it is more like 3 or 4). So yes. I fell asleep. for 2 glorious hours, 2 days this week, while A was left to do what he does. Sorrynotsorry.

Payday doesn't have chocolate at all.
True but I want them all like that. I usually skin KitKats and twix bars. Oh and butterfingers and snickers. I'm such a weirdo.

  • Um.  I let M suck on suckers a lot.  Small ones, like Dum Dums.  What's the big deal?

  • They don't have scheduled trick or treat times here so after a group of teens not in costume at 9:30, we brought our pumpkins in and turned out the lights. Sorry but go home.

  • Continuing with the food theme. DD2 really ate nothing substantial yesterday afternoon/evening. Unless you count cupcake, goldfish and crackers. She did nurse a lot though, so that's something, right??

That is late.  But, do they have scheduled trick or treat time most places?  I don't think I've ever lived someplace with scheduled trick or treat times.

  • I got drunk the other night, and got it on with SO. Apparently I woke up at some point in the night for more. After I woke him up and all.... I ccouldn't find the condoms. So I went back to sleep. Lmao. I don't even remember doing it.
  • I hate my dog.  He is the most bull headed creature I have ever met.  He's very food and toy protective.  I'm afraid he's going to bite me or Albert.  We're talking to a couple of trainers in our area, but if we can't stem this behavior I don't know what we'll do.  Hopefully, we'll start training tomorrow or Sunday.

  • @Ginabina11 I'm so sorry you're having a rough time. Have you ever posted on the PAIF board? I'm not in social media but also have a hard time with pregnancy announcements, especially from people for whom it happens so easily.

I have no guilt that DH and I are going away for the w/e to celebrate our 6th anniversary. We will definitely benefit from some alone time and Lila will enjoy being indulged by her grandparents. I am more looking forward to time away than anxious about being away from my child. To each family their own but I am not someone who feels my child will be traumatized if we are away from her for 2 days.

  • The first thing I did this morning was put on Christmas Radio on Pandora. I'm getting my jingle on right now and it's awesome.
I began doing this a few days ago. :)
Carolyn, I just hopped on here to skim this thread, and was holding Kate while doing so. I didn't think she was paying attention to the screen but she saw the picture of your son, pointed at him, and said, "Hiiiiii!" all excitedly. I think she has a crush.
  • I made a meal plan for next week and my grocery list for Sunday during a professional development training this morning.

    Amen, sister.

I hate when people say things like, "If you're going to spend some weekends away from your children, why did you even have them?"  I just cannot understand this sentiment.  I am allowed to love my child AND want to spend time alone with my husband.  They are not mutually exclusive.
  • Team date nights and baby free trips to keep the spark alive!!

My FFFC is stupid. I don't talk on the phone much except for family. We hang up saying "love you bye" usually. My new job uses the phone more than my previous one and I am constantly on alert to NOT say "love you bye" to a coworker. The day that happens my cheeks will blush so furiously I will spontaneously combust and they will find nothing but ashes on my singed chair!

  • Here's one I forgot last week. While at the park, I Howell and a little boy his age were playing with his ball. It was SOOO cute. So flipping cute. Meanwhile, I heard some eightish year olds talking through the tube slide (I guess they haven't heard about sound bouncing) plotting to steal Howell's ball, "Let's steal it from those little kids!" So I waited until they made their play and said, "Actually it's his ball and I would love to let you play with it but we're leaving. Maybe you should ask next time."

People I know who never leave their children.  They have the same sentiments about sleep training ("If you wanted to sleep, you shouldn't have had children!"). They usually follow either statement up with a platitude about sacrifice and how kids are only young once and we can't miss anything.

    I hate how I can't separate quotes!

I always think about what Scout said about that...something like, the days of my kids' childhoods are also the days of MY life.

You can't be a good parent if you aren't fulfilling your own needs, too.
