We decided we won't do an offical FB announcement until we know the gender (no clue when that will be yet) so we'll tell the rest of the world at that time.
Our gender reveal will occur when family comes to the hospital after delivery! Team green again. With DS our immediate families gathered and came in together a little while after delivery and we announced name and gender to everyone as a group.
We'll probably do a picture with my daughter. Maybe balloons or something. Maybe stockings because if we're ready by Christmas. And then that will be our reveal and our baby announcement on Facebook.
Honestly...I'm SO sick of seeing the same cake, balloon things on Facebook and Pinterest so we'll probably just being "boring" and tell people randomly in conversation like "He's an active little guy" or "She's been keeping me up all night"
We already use pronouns when we talk about the baby just because it's easier than saying "the baby" or "it". We just switch it up and say both he and she since we don't know yet. LOL.
This was DH's Facebook status to announce. I'm sure mine was less creative.
"___, you really got me now. You got me so I don't know what I'm doing." "___, you know it's true. Ooh, ooh, ooh, I love you." "I'm just a ___, living in captivity." "That's when I saw this beautiful ___ie ___ walking. I picked up my car phone to perpetrate like I was talking."
I'm not into the whole party for a gender reveal thing, but we wanted to do something different this time since we found out with our son at the ultrasound and were team green for our daughter. Our level 2 u/s is scheduled for the day before DD's birthday party. Since it will just be immediate family anyway, I'll have the last present be a box of colored balloons and we'll all find out together.
We did a whole mustache theme for our wedding....so starting with the shower all the way to the wedding was mustaches and lips. So I want to post 2 pics for the gender reveal. One before we find out saying "Little Miss? or Little Mr.?" With my husband holding one of the mustaches up and me holding one of the lips up. And then for the reveal it will be a picture of both us holding one or the other saying "It's a Girl! or It's a Boy!" It's totally cheesy, but that's us
I didn't feel like going all out with a dinner or gathering, since my family will already be at my moms for Christmas i think we are doing a little table top tree lighting... Blue and pink strings of lights and we'll plug in the correct color... No mess No fuss... But everyone important will be there to see
I set up my gender u/s the day before Thanksgiving so if we're able to find out then I'll just tell everyone casually at Thanksgiving. No big announcement or party opening boxes of balloons or shit like that. Really keeping my fx that we'll be able to find out that early b/c I'd like to know before Black Friday so I can hit up all the sales when we go to Houston to shop

We are going to ask the U/S tech to keep it a secret from us, but put gender and pic in an envelope. My bf has the task of figuring out a way to reveal it to us and our guests at our wedding. Shhh....it's a surprise though it's going to kill me not knowing.
I have a friend that had the u/a tech put the gender in an envelopeabd not tell her, and she and her husband opened it on Christmas. I love the idea of being surprised.
We aren't going to do a "reveal". I am hoping if we find out the gender before Christmas that we can get the u/s tech to put it in an envelope and then DH and I can open it on Christmas morning and find out that way. Then we'll just tell family and friends.
Looks like gender u/s will be around my bday, so we will prob do my bday cake either blue or pink inside so we can find out at the same time as our family

I didn't get to do a bunch of fun stuff when I was pregnant with DS-not even a baby shower. So, I'm cheesin it up for this baby.
We'll make our formal announcement on Thanksgiving to our extended families and such. But for the gender reveal, I'm hoping we can make it our Christmas card. What I'd like to do, is find out then have my son dig into some cake/present/something to find out if he's having a sister or brother. Have photos and different points of the reveal and so on and so forth.
Sidenote: My DS is 9 and so excited for a sibling. He keeps saying "our baby" haha Love my kid!

@ksyknelvr73 - that's what we did for our daughter, it was a torturous 16 days, knowing that the secret was in an envelope wrapped up in a box. My husband opened the present at my parents' house on Christmas morning and read it to me (well, the whole room), my brother videoed us. So we posted the video later in the day after we told all the important family. The video still makes me tear up almost 3 years later
Since this will be our second, I think we are going to do a gender reveal party with colored center filled frosting of hostess like cupcakes. Last time, we told family right away, along with baby's name. We want to switch things up this time around.
Umm how are you ladies finding out the gender by thanksgiving or Christmas? This is the June board so the earliest for anyone at 20 weeks shouldn't be until mid-January?

I have a elective ultrasound scheduled for December 23- I will be 17 weeks then. We also plan to have the tech put it in an envelope and then we will open in on Christmas Eve together.
I had a non-elective ultrasound with my DD at 16w3d and found out the gender, I couldn't imagine having to wait until 20 weeks when I have the option of finding out sooner.
Mine will be around my birthday or Valentine's day. I want to have the tech put the picture in an envelope, we pick out an outfit for each sex and have the correct outfit gift wrapped. I'd either open it on my birthday or we would open it together on Valentine's. Yeah right...I'm sure DD will be the one to open it which may be more fun.

With DD we did a big reveal party and it was a lot of fun. This time around I think we will just do a picture or something and we will find out at the ultrasound. (Funny how a second baby is already different)
We plan on doing an elective ultrasound at Baby Debut, it's a commercial non medical ultrasound place and they do gender reveal scans starting at 16 weeks for $70. They guarantee accuracy, if they can't find it they bring you back for another appointment, if they are wrong you get your money back. Totally going to do that as soon as possible, earliest being January 2nd. Toying with the idea of something fun for family but they live 90 miles away so I don't know if I can keep that in long enough to get everyone together, let alone have the answer in an envelope without opening it!

@Jennylou0604 You're going to be 13 weeks at Thanksgiving. There's no way you're going to be able to tell with an u/s that early. 20 weeks is pretty standard, but maybe you can find out in time for Christmas.
Unless she is having the Matern21(?) Blood test. That will tell.
Yeah - there are some blood tests, also like harmony & panorama, but she said u/s. So hopefully she won't be too disappointed when she gets there and can't find out what she wants.
BUT - she could definitely buy for both genders at the sales & just return after. I do that!
I found out with my son at 12w5d. If they can't tell me at 13w then fine, but yes, there is a chance. They start gender u/s at a place here at 13 weeks with 99% accuracy. I'm not going out and buying too many gender specific things that early, but they should be able to give me an idea especially if it's a boy. If they don't see anything at 13 weeks, which don't get me wrong...there's a strong possibility they won't, then I get to go back every couple weeks until they do. There's actually a few places around here that do gender u/s at 13 weeks. All of my friends have had them as well and not once have they been wrong. Again, not getting my hopes up because it is early, but you can't say I absolutely will not find out, because #1 they wouldn't offer the service and #2 I know first hand I can because I found out that early with my son.

I remember on my last BMB everyone did the elective 16 week ultrasounds and most were told boys (because girls can often look like boys at that stage, too.) By the 20 week u/s about half were "surprised" that they were actually having girls and had already bought tons for a boy. It's certainly possible to find out early, for some, just try not to get too attached to the idea that early!
I'll be going all out and having a reveal party. I've waited 2+ years for these babies, they're the first grandkids/great grandkids/nieces or nephews and everyone in the family is happily anxious to find out. Party on people!
Birthdays for DH and DS are at the end of January. I thought about trying to in cooperate pink or blue cupcakes into the party, with DS being the one to tell everyone the color on the inside. We did the blue inside cake when pregnant with DS 4 years ago.

I was told around 15 weeks my son was a girl. Later we found out he was indeed a boy. My dr explained that the testicles don't drop until later which is why they normally don't schedule an us until around 20 weeks because earlier it's very hard to tell the difference between boys and girls.

Something about the "angle of the dangle". I'm going to try and find my sons u/s but you could tell. I guess it depends on what kind of shot they get. I'm just glad I'm able to get another u/s at 13 weeks, gender or no gender I'll be one happy lady.

Here's my DS's at 12w5d and you can see "It's a boy?" with a question mark. I remember him telling me he was about 95% sure but not to go buy a bunch of things just in case. Of course I bought a few things, but nothing too big. It was fun to get a peek and a guess that early. Luckily he was right and the few things I did buy I didn't have to return
For my last one we found out right before Christmas. We told DH's parents we weren't finding out until after though. We got a helium balloon that said it's a girl and wrapped it in a box. We gave it to his mom as one of her gifts and when she opened it the balloon popped out. Her reaction was priceless. Just make sure to tape the balloon string to the bottom of the box or it will fly out.
My family came over for a Chanukah party and I told them I would be wearing either blue or pink.
If everything goes as planned we will have the u/s tech put the pic in an envelope and announce in a cake at the end of January. It will be DH's 30th BD so the family will already be together. Also, he was the one who desperately wants to know, so it will be a nice gift for him.
