Need advice- Car seat safety

So my son has a BFF in daycare. Over the last year we all have become very close with the boy's mom and dad.  They are great parents and we all get along really well. However, the one thing that absolutely drives me crazy is they never properly place his chest clip when he's in the car seat.  They turned his car seat forward facing right when he turned 1.  When I got in my fender bender back in March I told them how the paramedics said it was so much better that DS was rear facing for this accident... Hoping that they would get the hint. They didn't pick up on that hint so I dropped it. But now they are constantly posting FB pictures of him in his car seat with his chest clip by his belly.  It is driving me CRAZY.  How do I bring up this up to them without being that a-hole know it all! Oh I even posted car seat safety tips the other day on FB but I guess they didn't read it. Help.

    This is sooo hard.  I have several nurse friends (many pediatric too) who dont properly strap their kids in.  ALL of them flipped them FF at 1yr and I even have one who posted pics of her 8 month FFing (and her husband is a highway patrolman!!!).  I have only done what you did and constantly post carseat safety stuff hoping it will get them to think about what they are doing.  I am too chicken to say anything because people get so defensive when they think you are questioning their parenting decisions.

    Car seat safety is so huge for me! Our best friends turned their LO at 11 months and I wanted to cry. I did everything you mentioned above with the links and DH and I casually talk about it while we're out with them.

    They never got the hint but at least they do a good job of buckling him in, if not I agree I would slip in and "finish" especially if we were driving somewhere together.

    Could you look up car safety check events in your area and suggest a "fun get together"? You could tell her that you feel like you need a pro check your seat, because it's wobbly or something and ask her to tag along. Maybe she'll go for it and then you have a professional telling her how to do it right instead of you having to do it. :-)
