  We gave our cat a treat-flled turkey piñata for her 10th birthday in July.  Now that I see your photo, I'm totally wishing we'd gotten hats.  Oh, and we invited 15 or so guests to her party...and they came...and some of them brought our cat birthday presents.  Lots of canned tuna.  So, if you're crazy, at least you're not alone!
