Does anyone else already have baby names picked out? My husband and I have already decided on Zoey Marie for a girl or Ethan Ray for a boy but we can't decide if we should tell the few people who know about our pregnancy at this point. I really like our names and don't want anyone to "taint" them for us....when do you think you will start telling people? Or will you wait until birth?
BFP 10/27/13---Heartbeat 11/20/13---Its a BOY, Ethan Ray 2/18/14---Possible heart defect 2/18/14---Confirmed Aortic valve abnormality 3/26/14---Scheduled delivery June30th
We have had our FN for either sex picked out for a long while! A boy will have DH's grandfather's name for MN spot but we can't decide on a girl's MN. I'm torn between using my grandmother's MN or my great grandmother's MN
We decided that we'll reveal the name at the baby shower and I'm not sure if there will be any VIPs who get to know ahead of time. DH says no, but I have a hard time keeping secrets lol.
ETA: OP- I LOVE both of your name choices!
BFP #1: 3/23/13, EDD: 11/22/13, MC: 4/2/13
Convinced it was a boy and missing him every day!
BFP #2: 10/25/13, EDD: 7/3/14, Grow baby Grow! Anabelle Rose born 6/6/14
We were team green last time, so we had a girl name all ready to go: Evelyn Kay (Kay is both our mothers' middle names). I guess we need to come up with a new boy name, though. H's family has a naming tradition, usually carried on by the oldest son, but BIL didn't use it with his first boy. I think we would like to, if it doesn't step on any toes.
I have thought of names, but I am not going let people know what they are until we know what we are having and what it will be. I do not want everybody to put in their 2 cents.
March 2013: First TTC trip to RE, On 1500 mg Metformin, April 2013: PCOS and Endometriosis, May 2013: DH Low volume; Femara 7.5 mg + IUI #1 = BFN, July 2013: Femara 7.5 mg + IUI #2 = BFN, August 2013: Femara 7.5 mg (X5) + Bravelle (X7) + Ovidrel + IUI #3 + Endometrin = BFP MC at 5w3d, October 2013: Follistim (X14) + Ovidrel + IUI #4 + Endometrin =BFP!!!
We have our names picked out too! We have been telling people who are close to us. Our boy name is Jensen River and our girl name is Gemma. I like Gemma Faye, but DH loves Gemma Forest.
A lot of good names on this board! I especially like Zoey and Sebastian.
We're going team green, so working on 2 names. If it's a boy, he will be named after our fathers. Just have to decide which name first (Thomas or Edward). No where near agreeing on a girl's name. We both want to do family, but can't agree on what we like. I'm pushing for Harriett Ruth.
Front runners for FNs are Gianna or Amelia for a girl. MN will either be Grace or Adeline after one of our grandmothers.
For boys, Victor, Aiden, or Carter (I loved Aiden before it was popular so I'm not letting popularity stop me). MN is set at Gregg after my dad. Yes, I know it's spelled weird but it's a family name.

We gave DS a common name that has a weird spelling. I've overheard people side-eyeing our "you-neek" spelling, but whatever. I don't even bother to tell them that it's a family name and its spelling is due to the name's French origin. Let them judge away, life's too short for that shit. Passing on a family name was really important and special to us.
We won't be telling anyone. Mostly because we are team green, so we're not sure ourselves! Last time we went team green and had a boy and girl name picked out, and ended up not using either! so who knows.
My son is named after my husband's grandfather. I didn't love the name at first but it has grown on me. That said, I am hoping my husband will let me have a little more say in this baby's name. My absolute favorite girl's name is Anne, and I would give her my grandmother's middle name, Marian. For boys, before we decided on James we were also thinking about Brooks, Daniel, and Sean.
@LinnyDan12 I have never met anyone else who also liked the name Vera for a girl! That's been our top choice since we were first married, but we'll see once we meet our baby if it fits her. (if it's a her!)
Well we know the MN for sure. Boy: Anthony (my dad) Girl: Judith (mine and my mom's MN, my grandma's name). Not sure on first names though. I do like Grace. But then we'd have Will and Grace.
Our two boys are Jack Ryan & Charles (Charlie) Jason. Amelia was our girl choice last time & I think we're sticking with that.. just have to finally settle on a middle name. No boy names picked yet.
Our DD is named Nora Alice Gayle. A boy will be Ronan John Rodney, or a girl will be Ilona Julia Fern. The MN's are all family names, and the FN's are celtic.

We have had our names picked for a while. Penelope Louise, (we already have our Piper Elizabeth), for a girl, and Parker David, or Dallin Wallace for a boy.

I like MaClaren for a girl and Cullen for a boy. DH is Scottish and we went for a Scottish name for our DS, Lachlan. We'll do another Scottish name for this baby.
Amelia Lee for a girl, no idea yet for a boy. We've already used the boy names we liked. We talk openly about the names with each pregnancy. With DS1, when I told my mom we were naming him Oliver, she said she didn't like that name. My reply was that she'll love it on him, which she does.
We were team green with DS. We had a short list of girl & boy names which we shared close friends. We will probably have a small list again. I liked waiting to see our baby before naming him. All along I thought we would end up with Andrew if a boy, but once we saw him we knew he was Benjamin
We really like using family names (DS is Locke Michael after my maiden name and husbands middle name) for a boy we are thinking Asher James after my sister Ashleigh and my dad and for a girl either Anna Jane after great grandmothers or Jane Annalisa also for both grandmother and great grandmother

We won't start REALLY narrowing names down until we know the sex and we will not make a final decision until we meet the baby. DS wasn't named until he was about a week old. We did use a family name for his MN and I'd like to do the same for this baby, so that part shouldn't be too hard.
We will wait until we know the sex too. Then we'll do the same as DD and go into the delivery room (or if things don't go well into the operating room for a RCS) with our 2 favourites and make the final decision once we meet the baby. We will not tell anyone our name ideas until we announce the birth.
We are not going to find out the baby's sex. Analyn Scarlett (after both our moms who passed away) for a girl and Wesley Sean for a boy (nicknaming him Wes). Love both names and will probably be sticking to them :-)
I don't have any names picked out, but I'd definitely wait to share the names until LO is here. In my experience people just don't have a filter when it comes to potential baby names and it can sting.
Hubby and I keep going back and forth on a few. Nathan, Jack, Allsion, Ivy..... I'm sure we will continue to come up with more... We will tell people closer to the baby being due.
*Just remember you can't please everyone and some people have no filter and may speak without thinking of your feelings. My SIL was crushed when my grandparents openly told her they hated the name she chose: Brandon
we have names already picked out they haven't changed through our whole TTC so I'm certain they'll still be the same at the end of this pregnancy if the babe is a boy he will be a second because my DH insists and if the babe is a girl we are naming her my middle name and then her middle name will be my moms name with an "n" on the end
I have a bunch of boys names that I like: Franklin John (both family names), Jack Dalton, or Henry John.
Girls names are trickier (because we used our favorite, Nora, on DD and I no longer like the 2 backups we had for her)- but right now I like Jane, Dahlia, Alice, Margot, Diana, Lucy, and Julie.
oh yeah, Margaret Isabel or Wesley Aodhan. We've had them piked out since we got married. We wanted to use our parent's first name initials and it worked great for Wesley (W=William and A=Albert) but for Margaret...we just couldn't find a D name (M=Margie and D=Donna), so we went with Isabel. Maybe we will find a D name we like.
