Trick or treat moved...

Locally Trick or Treating has been moved to tomorrow.  Forecast for tonight is potential thunder storms, that could produce 60 mph winds and pop up tornadoes.  Granted, this isn't guaranteed to occur by any stretch, but it definitely appears that we are going to get a fair amount of rain.

Your opinion... moving trick or treating:  wussification of our kids or proper thing to do?

Re: Trick or treat moved...

  • Back in my day we went trick r treating for 9 hours straight, in the middle of an F4 tornado, with nothing but our crappy plastic costume from the drug store.  And all we got were pennies and plain potato chips.

  • If it were just rain, I'd say we go... the winds are what I agree with.  If it gets that windy, my 2 year old will blow away.
  • I agree with polooo.

  • I would say that the threat of tornadoes will be a deal breaker.  Parts of Columbus is wrestling with this issue also.  Some have moved it to the weekend while others are still having it today.  I am lucky we had it Saturday in the cool scattered shower day.

  • Lightning and tornadoes give me pause. Tornadoes especially. Since I used to referee soccer I'll go with the rules for when we called games, and lightning and tornado watches both count there.
