Detergent other than Dreft?

I bought dreft to use for baby clothes, and after doing the first load last night, I really don't like the smell :(  I've always been weird about how laundry smells, I think because my mom always used this shaklee stuff that was basically unscented.  I use Tide clean breeze scent (I think it's called) for normal laundry but understand why it'd be a good idea to use something more sensitive for LO.

Anyone out there use a baby-friendly detergent other than Dreft?

Re: Detergent other than Dreft?

  • After the novelty of Dreft wore off I used All.

Really anything free of dyes & perfumes should be fine.

  • Anything free of fragrance will suffice. We used Purex Free and Clear and had no issues with DD.

  • My girls have sensitive skin. I've had good luck w all free & clear. Other ones made them break out

  • anything free & clear like Tide or All is usually good for sensitive baby skin. that being said, because they're dye and perfume free there really isn't any fragrance to them - but they don't have the strange smell of dreft.

  • I just use a regular free and clear detergent. Right now I use Tide F&G powder because I can use that for my son's cloth diapers too.

  • My SIL said that Dreft was a waste of money because they price hike it to play into new-mom fear. She said any free & clear will do. I will probably get Tide because I use their regular stuff on my own clothes.

  • We use ECOS detergent.  The bonus is if I run out of my regular CD detergent, I can use ECOS on our diapers, too.

  • We didn't use anything really special, just unscented/clear detergent.  I don't see any reason to buy something extra expensive and special like Dreft.

  • I just saw they came out with All Baby. It was in the BRU flyer.
I use Tide or All Free & Clear for all of our clothes. I miss Wisk, regular Tide and such, but it is easier to buy an use one brand.

  • I just used Tide original (un scented and dye free) since I can use it on DH's uniforms and on diapers.
