Sorry about the MIA-ness, and late birth story...so, induction set for October 22nd at 2pm due to gestational diabetes...one day before my due date:

I check in at 3.5 cm, 80% effaced; water still intact. I get my IV, and Pitocin is started at the lowest dose to be dosed up every 30 minutes:

It is continuously dosed up until my MW gets there at 6pm...and I'm all like:

...when asked about my contractions...so, the MW broke my water at 4cm:

The nurse suggested I get my epi now, because getting one during a bad contraction would be tough:

Epi in with one try at 6:30pm...FTW!

By 9pm I was complete! I also just wanted to take a nap...

But it was go time!

I pushed for 1 hour...in every position possible, but Willa's heart rate would drop into the 50's with every push and contraction. After 1 hour, my MW said she needed to get the doctor:

The doctor came in and suggested we vacuum:

He gave it one try...no go. He says it's c-section time:

I just want her out safely at this point. So the husband gets all dressed, and I am wheeled to the OR, the anesthesiologist is at my head along with my husband. I feel tugging and pulling, but no pain...I grab tight to my husband's hand:

My husband and I exchange a look when we hear crying:

They show her to us and then take my husband over to clamp the cord; meanwhile, I hear the anesthesiologist say "you guise her urinary bag is full of blood".

I knew immediately, my bladder had been cut! So, the on-call urologist takes his sweet time to get there...I am waiting, numb, wide awake, and still open...he gets there an hour later! BTW a bladder knick is a possible complication of a c-section; although, the doctor that did my c-section said he had not cut a bladder in years. Great.

It takes 4 hours to repair, and I get to have a urinary catheter for 3 weeks:

I get back to my room, and I spend all night snuggling and BFing Willa...who BTW is awesome! She weighed 6lbs 9oz, 19 3/4 inches.
But, I start have severe left flank pain that Morphine and Percocet ARE NOT touching, and I am vomiting it is hurting so bad.

I am sent for a KUB x-ray and a cat scan. Guess what? The urologist has sutured my left ureter (the tube from your kidney to your bladder) to my bladder by accident and I have a blockage...I must go back to surgery tonight!

But first, I must get a nephrostomy tube to temporarily drain urine from my kidney and make me more comfortable:

So, that procedure went well, I am much more comfortable. Soooo, I go back to surgery, they repair the ureter, but I get a fever that night, and the nurses are packing me with ice bags:

And now I'm having right sided flank pain...and the nurses are poking me multiple times for blood, blood cultures, urine, etc.

The doctor orders another cat scan with contrast for every oraphus...including rectal:

The scan comes back fine. Thank God.
I am discharged with a nephrostomy tube for 1 week, a urinary catheter for 3 weeks, and a c-section that has been opened twice in 24 hours:

Fast forward to today: I have my staples out (and c-section was the least painful part of this experience), nephrostomy tube comes out tomorrow, and the urinary catheter November 11th:

My husband has been immeasurably helpful and awesome (think emptying my catheter, doing most of the diaper changes, helping me shower...this is not pretty BTW)...I literally would not be able to care for a newborn without him.

And the IL's have been cooking every meal since Saturday:

Thanks for listening! Disclaimer: we will fight any extra charges to our hospital bill that were not directly incurred for Willa's birth.
And some pics!!

Re: @amjoy25's nightmare birth story in gifs PIP
I wish you a speedy recovery and enjoy your new addition!! She really is adorable!
BFP: 1.19.2013 - EDD: 10.2.2013 - It's a girl! 9.25.13: Welcome Addison!
That is seriously horrid! I am so sorry you had to go through all of that. I'm glad you are on the mend and have an awesome husband to help you out!
And Willa is freaking adorable!
But I love the gif story and Willa is adorable!
I'm so sorry you had to go through all of that. Your daughter is beautiful though!
Yay for baby snuggles, supportive husband, and cooking in laws! At least with all you have been through, you are surrounded with love and support!
I cringe for you having to have the cath for so long. That's the worst.
When you say you will fight other charges, do you mean the urologist stuff? Or how does all that work when the additional surgeries were not your fault?
That's all I got.
Oh, and Willa is so super adorable I can't even stand it.
Congratulations on having Willa!!!

**P/SAIF welcome!**
Ridiculous how many mistakes you had to endure. Hope your recovery is extra speedy!
Oh, and I like CV's thinking...
I would deft do everything possible to have a vag delivery! Although, I do not think my story is common with any c-section birth.
Foot drop is pretty bad too! I hope you get some answers.
I thought my c/sec was bad. It's interesting to me about the bladder cut, my dr thought she might have nicked mine, but they didn't do anything. I always thought that seemed strange. Maybe they were just in a hurry to finish because my epidural quit working and I was in so much pain.
