Lying about due date?

I'm curious if I'm the only one regularly giving out my 37 week "due date" instead of the actual one? I'm already big and anticipating being huge by the end. For some reason I feel better saying I'm due in March rather than my true EDD of April 11.

I always told people my 37wks date. With mono-dis I knew I wouldn't go past then so I just ignored my 40wk EDD.

I'm doing the same. I actually tell people it's the end of May, but it could be mid to end. I won't go 40 weeks, most likely I'll go 37, so that's what I'm saying.

I've started doing this with some people. It's just easier to say "early February" (34 weeks) than "well, it's mar 22 but because there's three . . ." I don't really feel the desire to discuss my OB's plans for my delivery with strangers or acquaintances.

Yep, I tell people due in January but delivering probably at beginning of Dec!

I always said "late July" when my EDD was actually Aug 7. Sometimes they'd follow up with "aren't twins usually early?" And then I'd go into it.

They ended up arriving on June 26.

Yeah, it depended on how close I was to whoever asked. For most strangers, I'd just say "I'm due in January" (was due 1/27 and was hoping to just make it to January....twins came on 12/27).

That's funny I'm "due" March 11th. I just say February. As MoMs we always have a lot more to explain anyway.

For my patients I just said, "in the fall" or "soon" and was usually pretty vague. For people who knew I was having twins, I always said I was hoping for at least mid October but that came back to bite me in the ass because when I was still pregnant in mid Oct all the way into Nov people wouldn't leave me alone about whether I had the babies yet or not. I should have just said their due date and left it at that, especially since they were born on their due date

I always told people that they were due in April, which they were and we were planning on an April 1st c-section but our daughter had other plans.

lol yeah I always say February (instead of March 2, which it would have been with a singleton)

I get sick of explaining that "full term" with twins is 40 weeks - but like PP said, if someone brings it up then I will go into it. Usually they just take February as February and leave it at that.

I always said Dec due Dec 31 but Said cause 3 they would be early. We were surprised I made it to end of Nov 29

I didn't lie but usually was vague and just said September when I was due 9/29. We obviously had hoped they would have been born early to mid September but that didn't happen.

My due date was 10/12 and I always said "It should be some time in September". Ended up being August.

March 29th is a pretty good day to have boy/girl twins, IMO.

For me it depended on who was asking. Friends and family, I told them my 40-week due date (Dec. 2) but said they would likely be here in November. For strangers, I usually just said November unless felt like subjecting myself to the "OMG TWINS" questions.

It can also be fun to tell people your actual due date without revealing that it's twins. I remember telling a woman at a hardware store that I was due in December - it was late July, I was enormous, and and I know she was expecting me to say "any day now" or something like that. The look on her face was priceless, although to her credit she did not say anything obnoxious.

when people ask me my due date, i give the explanation: if it were a singleton, i would be due on 2/4, but they are expecting these babies between 12/24 and 1/7 because of the type of twins they are (mono di). or, i just tell them how many weeks left i have.

My 40w due date is April 15, so I've just been saying early spring, and hopefully it'll be around the beginning of April.

I give the long winded answer. "Their due date is April 24th, but really any time from the end of March to the end of April."

Ya I totally lie.

My 40 week due date is Nov 25 but I've had my scheduled c section date Nov 4 since 20 weeks. So I always use the c section date.
Honestly, since I've had the section date, I don't consider my full term date at all, whenever asked what the "technical" date is, I usually have to think about it.
