IUI jitters

I am all set for my 2nd IUI for TTC #2 tmrw am. I am feeling really conflicted. These past two cycles I have been doing injectables. For this cycle RE upped the FSH so I was thinking I was going to have a few really good follies. Turns out, I have as many follicles as I did when I was just doing clomid. I have one big one at 19mm and a much smaller one at 13mm. The nurse was kind to remind me that it really just takes one good egg and I already know that most women conceive with just one egg, but I feel like all this money on the injects plus the time and $ for the monitoring just isn't feelings like a good return on my investment. I say this on the eve of my IUI all the while reminding myself that my last BFP (m/c at 9 weeks) was a result of just one follie. So yea, I know all this since this isn't my first dance, but still. I def won't have the money for another cycle until after the new year so I really am banking on this cycle working. I hate that I feel this way but I can't help it.

FX for you! I am about to embark on the IUI journey and am so nervous about it..... More emotionally than fiscally.

I am sorry... your meds may not be high enough or perhaps the wrong medication for you...

Good luck. I was really nervous with my 1st IUI b/c I had exactly the same thing...1 19mm and 1 13mm. We had a BFP. It does happen and I hope it happens for you as well.

Good luck! I can certainly appreciate the financial implications of fertility treatments. I hope these were the last injectables you will have to buy!

Thanks for all the encouragement, ladies. Today went as smoothly as I could have hoped. I mentioned my concerns to my RE. She floated the idea of starting follistim earlier in my cycle. I did that this time. I started at day 9 this time. Last cycle, I think I started at 10 or 11. I don't know. I'm just hoping it won't come to that. In the middle of my IUI RE says almost matter of factly, "wow, you are really fertile. I feel great about the timing." I really didn't know how to respond to that since you can't look inside my vag and get a sense of my fertility. I guess she was trying to be reassuring and helpful. Mostly, I just grinned and nodded and went back to work. I hope she's right.

I shouldn't but the way you wrote this made me chuckle. She probably was just trying to reassuring, but she was probably taking into account your cm, how everything looks etc.

Hopefully starting meds earlier will do the trick, I always started around cd 5. Actually scratch that I hope this cycle is the last time you have to take meds!!
