Short Version: Thomas Edward Was born 10/22 at 7:08pm. He was 7lbs 8oz and 21 inches long. He came out screaming with a head full of hair. That made the heartburn totally worth it.
Long Version: After much debate my SO and I decided that induction was the best office for us. We got to the hospital at 8:30 after we had been delayed 3 times. We started with cytotec(sp?) and after 1 dose I was only at 2cm so the nurses decided it was time to break my water. It took about 10 minutes after that for me to ask for the epidural. That was the longest hour of my life.
After 3 doses of cytotec and having my water broken I was at 8cm. We decided I would labor naturally for as long as I could since I was doing well on my own at that point. A labored like that for about 3 hours but didn't progress much on my own so we started a small amount of pitocen. At that point my labor kicked into high gear. After about an hour of feeling the contractions through the epi the nurse checked me and said it was time to start pushing.
I pushed for about 15 minutes and then at 7:08pm on 10/22 after 22 hours of labor my perfect little man was born screaming. They laid him on my chest and the rest of the world disappeared. We snuggled for almost an hour before they took him to clean him up and weigh him. I am feeling very fortunate and very grateful to have had such an amazing support team,
My nurses were awesome and my SO was perfect! I had minimal tearing with only two stitches. The recovery has been going alright even though I over did it the first few days and developed a fever. After that I was grounded to the couch to snuggle with my baby. So for those of you who made it this far have some pictures of my cute squishy baby!
