Hey ladies, so I'm just wondering if this is normal or advanced not quite sure. My DD at 10 months knew all her animal sounds after me just saying them to her once or twice. I know that isn't that big of a deal just wanted to point it out. She also said a three word sentence a few days ago, and she knows most of her shapes. I bought her some flash cards last week, went over them with her once and she can pick out every thing in the deck of cards if you ask her for it. I lay out all the cards and ask her to give me such and such and she does every time. She'll be 15 months in a couple of days. So not yet. Just wondering what you ladies think. Thanks.
Re: Is my 15 month DD advanced?
I will talk to my pedi just thought this would be a good place to ask other mothers but I guess I was mistaken.
Yes, I would say your DD is ahead of most babies in these areas. That said, what was the point of this post? Obviously, you're not concerned that your baby is "too smart" so it seems like you're just posting to show off. It's one thing to be proud of your kid but that's not at all how this post comes across.
I think everyone's point is- What are you going to do with the knowledge of your 15 month old being advanced? Put her in an educational program? Work with her more at home? I could understand wanting to know if she was closer to school-age, but right now there's really no reason to classify her intelligence level. Enjoy this time before she starts school and don't have to worry about stuff like that. Keep teaching her and encouraging her interests and she will continue excelling.
Ah, it quoted the wrong person, will try again.
