Help milk blister

in August 2012 Moms
I do not want mastitis. I think if it comes to that I'm just done nursing. Any magical tips to make it go away before it gets infected or do milk blisters even lead to mastitis?

    OMG, I hated milk blisters with a passion.  They were so effing painful.  I have zero tips, but I just wanted to say I feel your pain.  I have read that vinegar on a cotton ball in your bra (on the blister) might help because the acid breaks down the milk.

    When I had one I dealt for days waiting for it to go away, them finally popped it with a sterilized needle and felt instant relief

    I have had a milk blister for months, and I haven't had mastitis. *knock on wood*

    I had it for awhile in the summer, then when I had my appendix out and had to pump for a day, it finally went away. Then it came back. Ugh. Hoping yours is not so stubborn!
