Post-Partum Cavities?

I have never had a cavity in my life until I went to the dentist for my 6 month cleaning during my third trimester.

I got it filled about 2 months after he was born and let me tell you, I HATE dental work, I may be a big baby but it was traumatizing!

I have another cleaning scheduled for today and I am terrified I am going to have more cavities, I have been feeling some sensitivity in my molar for a few months.

Has anyone else had dental issues since giving birth, I hear it has something to do with the pregnancy leeching the calcium out of your teeth?

    Yup, got 2 fillings a few weeks ago! Haven't had one since I was a child.

    I admit there has been times since LO was born that I've been so exhausted I go pass out without brushing...but I haven't been THAT bad.

    Ugh this makes me nervous. My dental check up is next week and my dental hygiene has seriously gone down hill since giving birth.

    I used to always get rave reviews from my hygienist, I bet I won't this time...

    Yes! My teeth have been horrible since DS1 was born. Probably didnt help that I had 2u2. I'm going to be toothless and bald soon!

    Yes.  In the last month I've had a root canal and two crowns.  I have another tooth that needs a filling, we're hoping it won't need a crown, too.

    i ended up needing to get 10 cavities filled while I was pregnant. And then half my back molar fell off a week and a half ago so that's getting fixed now...darn babies sucking out all our calcium!

    I had a clear check up my first month of pregnancy. Since May, I need 2 root canals, 3 crowns and 2 cavities.

    Went to the dentist last week and I need 3 fillings! I haven't had a cavity since like 3rd grade. I was so bummed. You're not alone. But like Boo, my dental hygiene has gone downhill since having a baby. The first couple of months I always forgot to brush. Maybe I'm now paying for it.
