I'm indecisive help me out!

I'm horrible at making decisions and need opinions!! Since Alessandra has such a long name most things I want to get personalized for christmas cut off at 9 characters and Alessandra has 10 ( so frustrating!).

I want to get her an anywhere chair from pottery barn kids for christmas with her name on it. So we decided to go the "nick name" route. However I am having trouble deciding on the spelling.

I don't know if I want : Ali or Allie. HELP PLEASE & TIA

Ali, because I see this as a nick name and Allie as a "full" name. If Pottery Barn can't do the personalization for the full name, could you find someone locally to you who can?

I've tried!! The ones i did find , I wasn't to fond on their work. I managed to find one site that can fit 10 letters on a stocking though!

Agreed!! but we do call her Allie / Ali I just cant get the spelling right. First i started with Ali but then it just seemed to short, then I went with Allie but like PP said it seems like its own name. I guess I'm leaning more towards Allie.

YOu should have seen me planning my wedding. I have such a problem with decisions.

ETA: Edited cause my fingers were moving way to fast lol

I like the initials idea too. I'd also call PBK and ask if they can make an exception...their stuff is expensive enough, they should accommodate!

Go to a PB store and ask who their monogrammer is or check out your mall and see if there is a specialty store that does monograming. I wanted more than what PB would do for DS's quilt so I bought the quilt and took it to the indepent store to be monogrammed. I bet they'd do her whole name. See pics of what I get done there.

As an Allie myself (full name is Allison), I vote Allie. Even spelled this way, some non-native English speaker still sometimes call me Ali (like Mohammad Ali). Also, be aware that if you call your girl Allie, no one will spell it right. I get a lot of Alli, Ally, Alley, Ally, etc. I'm totally cool with it, FWIW.

I agree that Alessandra is a beautiful name!

Ok get the first pottery barn to do the first 9 characters then take it to another pottery barn and have the last one done. Ridiculous honestly 10 letters isn't even that long.

Christopher!!!! I've seen Christopher monogrammed in one of their stores!!!!! If that sales lady is saying the only do 9 letters...that's bullshit.

@ALP514 no I took it to a shop by me that will monogram anything you bring in. I had the quilt done and a few other things. Love that place! I'm a really annoying monogrammer.

Just an idea. Not sure how crafty you are but you could always get her whole name in iron-on appliques then do it yourself so it's even more special. Or have a grandparent do it if they are. I actually just got done personalizing my boys toyboxes the other day. But I love doing that kind of stuff.

If you can't or a family member can't then I would vote for Allie.

laxminavkar I think their blankets are the only things that can be more then 9 letters! Of course thats on my list too!!!

Sorry for posting and running had a very successful trader joe shopping spree. The more i look at the chairs the more I want her whole name. Either that or I found a type that they put either Just an A or first middle last initial. That could work too , but its on backorder. Ba-hum;bug!!

I love doing this kind of stuff as well!! However for the amount I'm spending on the chair why not get it personalized , ya know?

very true! Maybe do the initials but see if you could have the middle initial larger? Kinda like a monogram.

Bah I hate when stores are difficult for no reason. If you are getting the blanket maybe you could just do a big "A" on the chair?
