December 2013 Moms

what will you wear for Christmas?

Has anyone else thought about this? Not to sound vain, but ds is due Dec 7th and I've been giving some thought to what I could wear for the holidays. I'm already sick of my maternity clothes but don't think I'll be back in regular bottoms or dresses by then. So maybe a sweater dress or tunic with some leggings? Or better yet spanx leggings haha.
With my last two I wore yoga pants or sweats until I could fit in my fat jeans but I'd like to wear something a little nicer than yoga pants to our holiday festivities.

Re: what will you wear for Christmas?

  • I plan on maternity jeans and one of my loose tops.
  • Loading the player...
  • A sweater dress with leggings would be cute.

  • You very likely will not be in pre-pregnancy bottoms (and I'm just basing this on my own experience last pregnancy -- my hips were still wider than normal 2 months out, though my belly had mostly gone down), but you could probably fit into looser pre-pregnancy tops. I'd probably go with leggings and a sweater dress or oversized sweater cardigan...but I'll only be a week postpartum at best so I'll definitely have less options than you!

  • Probably a hospital gown :/
Yeah, wearing one of those for Christmas is on my radar as well. I guess we'll see!

  • If LO is born on the due date then it'll only be 11 days until Christmas so I'm guessing leggings and something to cover my stomach up big time. I wish it could be something cute but I know I won't fit into anything I have.

  • If she's not out yet, a mumu. Seriously I have no idea...good thinking.

  • I will probably still be pregnant since it will be 4 days before my EDD.  My family is very casual so luckily I'm not too concerned.  I ordered a cute Christmas pregnancy t-shirt from zulily yesterday (it is black with just a red gift bow on the belly) so I'll probably wear that on Christmas with some yoga pants.

  • My due date is the 27th so it could be a hospital gown but if not I bought a huge pair of comfy flannel pajamas. I plan on rocking them all day whether I've had Parker or not. We live 6 hours from everyone so odds are we'll be at home relaxing on our own this Christmas.

This baby is due on DS's bday which is a week before Christmas. I was wearing sweats, nursing tank and a zip up sweatshirt. That's pretty much my postpartum uniform the first month or so!

  • I just ordered a "nursing cover", which is a very loose cowl neck sweater from motherhood maternity. I'll wear it over a nursing tank with maternity pants/jeans.

  • I will most likely still be pregnant on Christmas, so I will be wearing whatever fits.

  • I'm thinking maternity jeans and a cute loose fit top with appropriate accessories :) I have some nice loose flowy black tunic shirts in my pre pregnancy wardrobe that will probably fit well and go good over a nursing tank and maternity skinny jeans and hide my postpartum whatever.

  • I am putting zero thought into this. My family will be lucky if I roll myself out of bed for thanksgiving, let alone christmas
  • Anything that fits and doesn't make me feel like cow.  It'll just be myself, DH, DS and LO so I'm not looking to impress anyone.  Either jams or some leggings and a hoodie I'd imagine.

  • Spanx and whatever fits.
  • I am due just a week before so we aren't planning on doing anything but staying home for Christmas.  With DD I wore sweats for like the first 6 weeks PP.
  • Ditto the hospital gown response.  lol.

However, if I was due earlier in the month, I honestly don't think I'd be thinking about it that much...we would not be traveling for the holiday and I have no problem sitting around in sweatpants when our families are here!

  • Sweats! I'm not going anywhere. I may still even be in the hospital. Or I may not even have had LO. Who knows.

  • I'm looking forward to not travelling for once at Christmas and spending the day in pj's -hopefully with LO in my arms and not my tummy anymore :)
  • That is the best, stupid flag ever! Maybe they hit it by accident. I did that once.
  • No idea here... It's Christmas baby or bust... Either I will be in hospital or at home still carrying... No idea what clothings I'd wear.. Probably yoga pants with comfy top..

  • Omg @jenifferbromley so sorry, DS got a hold of my phone, how do I unflag you! I swear I'm totally fine with sweats :)))

Sure, sure blame it on the kid. ;)
  • I think I managed to unflag, I even loved it :)

  • Hahaha @WinterPumpkin!! I was like "Gosh! I know people dislike sweats, but come on!!" Jk ;) I figured it was a mistake!

  • Since I'm due 12/21, I'm thinking I will a.) be too tired to wear anything but pjs or b.) be delivering a child.
Either way, there will be minimal effort on the clothing choice.
  • I will be wearing pjs or bedsheets. If my appetite is anything close to what it is now, I might accessorize with some mashed potatoes and gravy and other yummy Christmas dinner foods. :)

We are definitely planning on taking it easy this holiday, relaxing at home with LO.

  • It all depends on how I feel. I have a feeling I won't care what anyone's opinion is.
