If your giving $ to daycare providers...

for x-mas/holidays

How much?

I was thinking $40.

Too little?  Too much?

Re: If your giving $ to daycare providers...

  • DD has 4 main teachers - I gave $25 gift cards each to walmart (the only thing close to them).  I also bought a $5 popcorn tin for the room.  I put a picture of DD on top and used a Sharpie to write Merry Christmas.

  • we participated in Treats for Teachers & brought lots of food for everyone.  We gave the main 2 teachers $15 gift cards to Target.  I know it doesn't sound like much, but they have only been there a few weeks & DD leaves very soon.
  • DD goes to a home daycare and last year we gave a $75 gift card to JC Penney (that's 1/2 of our weekly rate).
  • We are doing a $50 gift card for the main teacher and an assortment of candies in a cute bowl for the room as a whole (four or five "float" teachers come in depending on the day).

  • A friend told me 1 week extra pay is nice...but we have a sitter so there's just one and my DD is the only kid she watches. So we gave ours $150. Personally, I think it's too much but I'm mad at her right now.
  • My DS has 3 teachers. I plan on giving them $20 Visa gift cards.
  • We're giving approximately half our weekly rate, $75.00, to our in-home provider.
  • We gave one weeks rate to our licensed in home provider.  $150.
