Hi beautiful Bumpies! I had Gastric Bypass RnY surgery and I am looking for an over the counter prenatal vitamin that can be well absorbed. Hopefully not too expensive. I would GREATLY APPRECIATE suggestions! Tons of luv!
I take the nature made prenatals and I take two a day instead of one per my surgeon because of absorption. I also take an additional iron supplement ferrous furmarate (sp?), citracal calcium, and folate...I feel like I take a crazy amount of vitamins. I also have my b vitamin. My Bariatric surgeon sees me about every 4-6 weeks to monitor my vitamin levels and so far I am doing well.
Married 11/23/11, TTC starting 10/12, BFP#1 11/30/12, Adoption of stepson finalized 03/19/13,Loss of our daughter at 20w4d due to incompetent cervix 03/27/13, BFP#2 06/28/13, DS2 born 3/1/14.
I take Women's Once a Day petite vitamins in the morning (2 is the dose) and take Nature Made Prenatal with DHA (1 is a dose). The only thing that is wrong with my levels is I have low iron. I am supposed to take a supplement but find I don't have enough time/room with all the other pills and food!
I use the Celebrate vitamins since I had the RnY, and we compared them and found out they have twice as much vitamins as the prenatals we found (except for calcium and folic acid which I take separately). So for now, I keep taking the ones I was taking before (I should say that I'm also almost 2 years post bypass so my absorption is higher than someone who just had it).
I had RNY 19 months ago and didn't even think about taking 2 prenatal vitamins instead of one. I won't have my first apt for several weeks since I just found out I was pregnant a few days ago but I will start taking 2 until I got to the doc. Do you take 2 at a time, or one twice a day?
