Has anyone else been looking at crib bedding yet? Share!

I've been browsing Pottery Barn Baby, Land of Nod, babybedding.com (which has a cool build a crib feature where you can mix and match whatever fabrics they offer), Dwell Studio, and of course BuyBuyBaby and Babys R us.

I'm in love the Harper Nursery Collection from PBB, BUT they don't appear to have the bumper (please skip the lecture, I know the arguments and I'm well educated on the subject by my MIL who is a nurse) in yellow. I have to ask DH if he likes it, I might just order the quilt and crib skirt. I found awesome crib sheets (Clouds and Stars Quick Zip Sheets) at BuyBuyBaby that the mattress sits in and the top zips, DH is in love because they are easy to change out in case of throw up/diaper explosion.

I've been searching etsy and pinterest. Saw the most beautiful bedding in the PBK catalogue, but it's just too $$. No judging here about bumpers... We used them.

All my favorite crib bedding I keep finding is for boys!! I would be happy either way with the gender of course but looks like I'm hoping for a boy! haha found the PERFECT bedding with fire trucks and whatnot last night (BF is a firefighter) and he got the "I want that for my bed!" look in his eyes! haha

I've been browsing Etsy. I know the color schemes I want for a boy or a girl, so I just browse for now. We didn't use our bumpers for the first 9 months or so and then I put them on b/c DS was moving around so much and banging stuff on the sides of his crib. I was scared to have them on there though before that.

I didn't even think to search Pinterest! (and I've looked at Etsy for knick knacks for the nursery, I didn't think of bedding, that's a great idea).

Edit to add thought: Do people really spend $700 on their crib bedding?! Some of these are out of this world. Gosh.

I did a set with my son, never used the quilt. This time if its a girl I have a quilt set that my dads mom made when I was born and its all pastel colors in a puffy quilt with soft lace on the edges so I'll just get solid color gets to match that and bumpers to match seperately. If this one is a boy....I don't know lol! Probably solid color sheets in teal as lime green, with gray accents.

bumpers aren't all bad my sister knows someone whose kids leg got stuck in their crib and the kid broke it spazn to get it out so she got one for her kids because of that reason

I never bought a set with Beb because we were waiting until she was born to do so and i never found one I loved. So I went simple and ordered from Carousel Designs. Simple pink comforter and skirt, got a grey sheet from SheetWorld and used white breathable bumpers. I also ordered a custom pillow and mobile from Beyond Bedding that tied in the pouf Ottoman I bought on Etsy.

It definitely was not the direction I thought I was going to take at this time that time but I couldn't be happier with how it turned out. And honestly i would save my money on the mobile and comforter. One was a huge pain so we ditched it and the other has never been used. Whomp.

The crib bedding was purchased immediately while the extreme initial joy at being pregnant was still there before pgal brain kicked in to hyper-drive. I'd had my eye on it for a long time and I was worried they'd stop carrying it, so I bought it. It's "When In Roam" from Land of Nod. It's so simple and cute, and the perfect color pallete

I got a custom fitted sheet on Etsy for DD. You can pretty much get one in any fabric you want that way. We have solid color back up sheets and use a generic breathable bumper. We actually do use a comforter now but just started since the weather has gotten chilly.

For DD we just got the Ikea sheets - simple! I did get a solid hot pink one from Target that's my fave, as well as a yellow chevron sheet as well.

I got a custom skirt and teething guards for a great deal on Etsy.

I found the print in etsy in different colors. They might be able to do even more color combos or sizes if you PM them. Looks like you can find whatever frame works best with your decor. I love it even if mine isn't a rainbow baby.

I went straight to Etsy--the bedding you can get in stores just isn't my style. We are going for a retro/vintage vibe for this babe (DH & I love the 50s/60s era furniture/decor), and I was able to find a few people who make what I'm wanting as far as the quilt goes. It's expensive, of course, but worth it for me ($100-$150). Sheets I was able to find on amazon though for cheap.

I got the whole set last time (Lion King theme). The comforter is balled up on the glider. The sheets are in a rotation with all the other ones. The decorations are kinda up on the wall, more like leaning on the shelf we hung. The sets are completely not worth it imo. Though they are super cute. I guess one day she'll use the comforter?

Something I learned after he was born was that the crib sheets that came with the bedding set were cotton and were cool when I placed him down to sleep and he'd shoot right up and wake up. I switched completely over to A&A crib sheets. Much better, just went with the solid colors.

What is A&A? does that stand for something or is it a brand. my friend google wasn't sure either.
