Uggs for baby boys: Yes or NO!

What are your thoughts on Uggs for baby boys? This is something I've gone back and forth with on with DH, family, and friends. Its seems like most women say go for it and the men say heck no (they hate uggs on us as well). Do any boy mama let their little guys wear uggs?

Re: Uggs for baby boys: Yes or NO!

  • I wouldn't let my daughter wear uggs, so chances are I wouldn't let a son wear them either.

They're hideous.  I know they're warm, I get that.  I just can't get past how ugly they are.

  • I actually LOVE Uggs and own a pair myself but mine are the woven cloth ones. I would get DS a pair if they weren't so expensive! I can't justify spending that kind of money on them! With girls they would probably wear leggings or something with them. Boys would wear them with pants over anyways I would assume? I say yes.

  • I'm cheap so no. Haha
I actually only put him in shoes that are made for learning to walk; no fancy cute ones.

  • I don't see a problem with it.  I also don't have a boy. :|

MH would probably give me the side eye if I bought them for a hypothetical son.

  • Personally, I wouldn't but if you like them go for it!

  • I would do it. Quinn is getting a pair and I may get them in a neutral color so a 2nd child could wear them too.

  • No, DH would never go for that.

  • Love Uggs for myself and for DD (She has a pair that were a gift from a girlfriend of mine) but I don't think they are for boys.

  • I dress my boys pretty trendy and James really likes getting dressed. I think because people compliment him all the time on his clothes so he enjoys it. I don't like Uggs for me but I feel like it is a cute kid style. So, yes I am thinking about it for my 2 year old. DH would never pick them out but I buy their clothes and get them dressed. But my kid is also wearing lavender shorts in my siggy and often wears his pants rolled up capri style, so take my opinion for what it is worth.

Audrey has a pair of Uggs that her Bubbie got her and they are very gender neutral looking.  So I think it depends on the specific pair.  The ones that are like a waffle knit or ones that look like the traditional Uggs with girly detail that women wear all the time I think look to feminine, but plain ones in a neutral color are fine for a boy.

    Example:

    Girly

    https://www.zappos.com/ugg-kids-cardy-toddler-little-kid-big-kid-grey

    Neutral

ETA: Audrey modeling her Uggs last month, I think these would look fine on a boy.

I think I am going to get Leo a pair for sure. I think the Uggs Boo Boots are super cute (I think those are the boots Audrey is wearing above). They come in navy too, but I think I am going to get the traditional brown color.

Do they lace in the back? If do, those are the ones she has. I will totally put these on a future son if we ever have one.

I like them on both girls or boys, but I cannot get past paying $150 for boots for a kid that is going to grow out of them ;) If Ashie wants $150 shoes, then it will be when her feet have stopped growing or she can pay for them on her own. I'm a meanie like that lol.
The ones I posted are $44.

  • I would never pay $150 for infant shoes.  I have these in 2 sizes:

Paid $30 new for 1 and hand me downs on one.

ETA: My previous estimate of $150 was wrong. The one I would get (https://www.uggaustralia.com/kids-little-kids-boots/classic/5251T.html?dwvar_5251T_color=CHE#start=3&cgid=kids-little-kids) are bigger sizes as well, but they're $100 not $150. Still alot on shoes they'll outgrow though :/
I bought those in black in the 6 (for later) on Ebay for $25, worn one time in the original box.  You can't even tell their used.
You just have to search and you can find great deals.

That's why I didn't quote you. I think that $44 (while it's spendy) is doable. I really thought about getting her https://www.uggaustralia.com/baby/erin/5202.html?dwvar_5202_color=SAN these ones. I could do $50 for those.
If you are still thinking about getting her those, they are $36 with free shipping on shoes.com because of 20% they are doing right now and 8.5% ebates.

  • They're cute but I think I'm going to get him a pair of livie and luca boots.

  • I wouldn't spend much money on shoes for a baby, but they are just boots, right?

See this baby boy looks adorable in his Uggs. I think my Liam could get away with a pair.
