I'm feeling all puppies and rainbows this morning, and wanted to hear some of my favourite mamma's best experiences from birth. Even if you feel you had a terrible tramatic birth experience, there must have been some point that was a wonderful memory for you.
So let's hear them! What was your most vivid memory from your labour and delivery that was a positive one?
Re: Your most vivid and positive memory
In my last few minutes of pushing, there was a quiet calm in the room. The rising sun was brilliantly illuminating the colourful fall trees outside our window, and I'd stare at this between contractions. Then I heard my midwives gasp and laugh and say "oh my goodness! look at that!", and I heard a strange noise and felt a vibration in my birth canal. My daughter was vocalizing and her head was only half way out. We all laughed, and I felt instantly overjoyed.
Next to that, being told it was time to go to the hospital was amazing. I thought it was 2 long days of false labor. I was sooooo relieved and giddy!
We're one and done!
Second, when someone held up the iPad and my husband was there via FaceTime. We both were at a loss for words, but I'll never forget the look of joy and pride on his face when he saw his son!
One of the positive things was that after 4 days of contractions, the shakes, not eating, puking on the operating table, etc that after my c/s as they were taking the epi tube out I was still making jokes. They had me propped up on my side and were ripping all the tape off my back and I was staring at the floor and I go "I feel like a capsized boat!" I have no idea where that came from (the drugs I'm sure) but the operating team thought I was hilarious. I had a rough time so I'm proud of myself for staying positive.

BFP #1 8/25/12 EDD 4/28/13 Blighted Ovum, D&C 9/20/12 at 8w6d. I'll always remember the first one. My baby Grace. BFP #2 12/26/12 EDD 9/4/13. DS born 9/7/13. My sweet rainbow.
Then having her put on my chest all squirmy, hugging her and being so happy that she was here and safe.
I also remember the skin to skin time. I insisted on tons of that this time around and it was precious.
Ok one more: DS had to go to the nursery for two days due to breathing problems and fluid in the lungs. I remember going to see him for the first time and seeing all the tubes in the incubator. He was so soothed by my touching him and I remember him just looking at me like he was searching to be held. I am in tears just thinking about it.

A funny thing I remember is when the dr was going to have me start doing light pushes she check again and his hair was already out. I remember the look on my husbands face. He was so surprised and excited.

Toby, my furry baby
Mine had to be when my husband's eyes became big and tears came and he yelled "keep going, he is almost here!" as Jacob made his way into the world. I had closed my eyes for that last push and MH yelled again for me to open them and see our son. I saw this perfect, feisty, screaming little man as he was put onto my chest and I cried as MH held my head and looked at both of us w such pride and love. Made it all worth it
DD was sitting on the couch next to my bed as I delivered and I'll never forget looking over at her and seeing her amazement that there really was a baby that just came out. Her sweet innocent face was precious, she was such a good girl and I'm so glad I got to have her be part of DS's birth.
When they put DS on my chest he was breathing but not crying, I was holding him and looking at the nurses to make sure he was ok. As one nurse was rubbing his back, he let out the loudest shriek and everyone started laughing out of relief. It was a great moment and I think we even got it on video.
