Favorite Underwear while Pregnant

Probably TMI, but I'm at a point where my pre-pregnancy undies are driving me bananas! My tush has definitely grown and my normal
Victoria's Secret cotton hiphuggers are giving me a wedge and rolling down when my maternity jeans start to head south.

Wondering if you ladies have any favorite undies that don't budge as much with a growing tush and belly?

I'm also looking for a great anti-itch lotion for my breasts and belly. I'm not worried about stretch marks given the fact I'm fully expecting them since I'm already covered from puberty and every woman in my family looks like they were malled. But I'm so freakin itchy! And I have super sensitive skin. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Re: Favorite Underwear while Pregnant

  • I bought some maternity underwear on sale at Babies R' Us.  Thyme brand...and they are wonderful...i only bought 2 pairs...but i was the same way those VS underwear just werent cutting it anymore.  I told my husband it was dangerous having these maternity undies so comfy and I can totally see how mothers end up being granny panty wearers...but boy they are nice.

As for the boob problem...I saw someone post something on here about a lotion that turned to oil that was really nice.  but i dont remember who posted it or where I saw it...

  • I always use the same underwear from the gap, but that's because I need white underwear that's 100% cotton (I have allergies to dyes and other fun things). They still fit great but I'm just going to go a size up later.

I'm using Burt's Bees Baby lotion for my skin. Again, I need fragrance-free and not too thick, and this works great on my belly and boobs, which itch like m-fers otherwise.

  • I haven't had to give up my undies yet (besides thongs unless they are absolutely necessary, and that's all I used to wear!) because the bikinis I have are still comfy, however, I TOTALLY recommend coconut oil for your boobs and belly! It works ah-mazing!

  • I only wear Target full booty underwear while pregnant. I don't know the name of them, but they are super soft and comfortable.
  • I got some amazing ones in a size up (not maternity) at Costco! The brand is Felina. They are made of micro modal and very cute. I got a 4 pack for I think $12 bucks and went back for more.

  • I am in love with these! They are great for post partum c-section moms when the mesh panties when old. I get them at Walmart in 3 packs for $8. I actually never stopped wearing them since last pregnancy and I used to wear strictly thongs (the thing lace band ones).

  • I only wear Hanky Panky, they are amazing. You can find discounted pairs at Nordstrom Rack, Neiman Marcus Last Call and Loehmanns because they are a bit pricey full price.
  • My favorite undies during pregnancy are none at all. I hate wearing underwear now, but I have to - gotta catch the snail trails. I have the same ones @DemoDoll has. I love them, too.

  • @AprilMay9, my ass, boobs and inner thigs are now enormous as well :-< and I'm still CrossFitting 3-4 times per week so I have a feeling things are only going to get much worse (and much larger) for me. It's really that whole inner thigh/hip into the bum area that's really bad and are making the underwear situation really annoying.

I'll take the weight gain in my womanly areas though, DH is certainly loving it :D

  • Recommendation for itching skin -Sarna - You have to ask the pharmicist for it, and its a bit pricey ($25ish) oh and smells very medicinal but it was the only thing that helped w. the itching last pregnancy (my doc recommended it) and its the only thing that does it this time around as well.

  • @kwolslager, I heart you for this.

@WoaC and @DemoDoll, I also LOVE the Hanes that you wear as they look so insanely comfortable, but are still lowcut (and that automatically makes them sexier, right?!).

I've never been able to wear lacy, my skin is just too sensitive and itchy! And thongs with the increased risk of UTI's during pregnancy are definitely a no-go for me right now. So I'm liking the either nothing or grannie panties routes. Too bad DH hates nude colored anything. Good thing I have some serious curves that I can use to my advantage now, perhaps he won't even notice the high waist or nude coloring or lack of a lace waist band :)

Thank you all for the lotion recs. I definitely have a few to try!

  • I'm really swooning over hanky panky now, but I can't stomach the price. I don't know the last time I spent more than $5 on a pair of underwear.

I bought some hanes from wal mart when I was pregnant with DS and wore those, but with DD and so far with this pregnancy I haven't had any issues with my regular underwear. I shop VS and Target, mostly.

And I second the coconut oil for the itchiness!

  • Burt's Bees Mama Bee oil & lotion is great. I use oil in the morning after showering & the lotion at night before bed, no itching so far.

They are made if magical cotton. I swear. Somehow period comes out of them better than any other underwear I've ever owned.
I might see if they have them in plus size since they are getting too tight on my ever expanding ass

I want these magical panties now :)

I am also curious, if you ladies don't mind my asking, what pant size do you were currently? I know the site says they are a one-size fits all, I wear a size 6 currently and I'm assuming I'm fine with the regular size, but figured I'd check just incase. My ars is definitely growing by the week!

  • For the itchy boobs...I've been using and loving NOW 100% coco butter. It's not a lotion so you have to melt it in your hand for a minute but it turns into an oil and goes on easily. Someone else suggested coconut oil. That has less of a scent. The coco butter is like putting dark chocolate on your boobs. It goes away pretty quickly though.

I so wish I could wear thongs. I love them and they are perfect for no lines, so pretty, etc. I used to wear them all the time, including working out and then ended up with a lovely 8 months of UTI's and a few more since then even with cotton undies. They run in my family sadly (I think we have defective urethras) so I avoid thongs like the plague. They are so pretty though, I'm jealous.

  • I normally exclusively wear Victoria's Secret but when I started getting my period again (fours years without it while on depo), I stocked up on the ones you get in packs of like five, just the plain, cotton underwear. That's what I would wear during periods and that's what I'm wearing now. Comfy, but not as cute. And they fit so much better!!
  • Do you guys just wear the HP thong or the other styles as well?  I wore thongs exclusively, but same deal, I'm just really not feeling it now that I'm pregnant.  I bought some boy short and bikini styles from the Nordy's BP section, but I can already tell that the boy short ones are going to start rolling over on me.  I'd love some awesome underwear, but I don't want to stick to solely thongs.

Also, I have a few pairs of the VS knock off HPs and they come down so low that my untended lady garden hangs out (gross, I know...).  Is that the case in the HPs?

  • I haven't had to give mine up either , but I do love the lace thong. There soft and don't roll down with maternity pants. Also looking for undies when this belly gets bigger. @demodoll those look so comfy I'm going to have to check them out.
