I woke up yesterday with a killer headache. It didn't go away with Tylenol and Coke so I was nervous I was coming down with something. At 6 I developed a 101* fever and had horrible chills. I called my OB's after hours and spoke to their partners NP because she was the one on call. She tells me it's just night sweats and I must be dehydrated. No, bitch, I feel like death - night sweats don't do that to you. I explained how the same shit happened 2w PP with DD1 and I ended up in the ER for almost 24hrs and it ended up being a nasty bladder infection from the catheter from giving birth. She laughs and tells me it's most likely not a BI because they rarely happen this far PP. I wanted to cut this woman.
I am waiting for the office to open so I can make an appt with my OB today. I'm hoping its just a BI and not something scary like Dr Google told me.
Update:
Well, the diagnosis is mastitis

I was late to my appt because DD1 had to poop, DD2 pooped as soon as I put her in her car seat, then needed to nurse and peed all over herself requiring an outfit change. So my appt ended up being with the bitch NP I talked to last night. Yippee skippee. My urine culture came back negative (I KNOW I have a UTI at least because this morning I started developing typical symptoms like frequency and urgency) which disappointed me because I wanted to rub it in her pretty little face. They are sending it out for more testing and I'm positive it will come back positive. As soon as she touched me she finally showed some sympathy because I am burning up. My left breast is very, very tender and according to the NP much hotter to the touch. So mastitis it is

thankfully the antibiotics will help my UTI as well. As if nursing isn't hard enough some days, this throws a wrench into it all.

Re: Feeling like death. Updated.
It's Motrin time!
I hope your fever breaks soon and you can get it all figured out.

Next time I will consult you! You're probably a better Dr than that NP. I honestly thought my sore boob was just part if the BFing territory. Lesson learned.
Thanks ladies!
