This is a new territory for me ... I never had to worry about this stuff while BFing. And because WCM is pasterized I don't feel like I need to be as uber conservative as I was with BM in bottles (I'd always toss unused milk, etc).
1. Do you use the same sippy cup throughout the day and just refill it as needed? I'm still BFing (before and after work and at bedtime). But I've been offering her sippys when we're together too, and she gets them at the sitters. Whatever she doesn't finish I've been putting back in the fridge and refilling as needed. Its never left out very long. So I don't think its a big deal. And I dump whatever is left over at the end of the day.
2. When you're out running errands and you think you might be out of the house when your LO would get thier milk ... are you taking sippys with you? Do you put them in a cooler bag?
TIA

Got pregnant on our own without Fertility Treatments - January 2016! Thank you snow storm Jonas!
EDD 10/15/16
At 20-week anatomy scan found IUGR (Intrauterine Growth Restriction), and very low Amniotic Fluid. Now, I'm High Risk and have weekly ultrasounds to monitor fluid and growth. If baby runs out of room or is too growth restricted, they will deliver ASAP. My current goal is to make it to 28 weeks!
Re: Safe Handling of WCM
If we're at a restaurant, I usually ask for milk and if they don't have it, I just give water. I'm too likely to forget about it and I don't want to find a yucky milk cup the next day.
She seems to like water more than milk.
Thanks ladies! I thought it was ok to refrigerate the sippy between meals.
Right now she's BFs in the morning before work. She had breakfast at the DCPs. Then gets a sippy (takes about 4 oz) before first nap. Gets a sippy with lunch (takes about 4 oz). Then a bottle before her afternoon nap (again about 4 oz). We're going to switch out that bottle for a sippy next week (I hope!). Then I BF before dinner (usually not too interested in BFing at this time tough) and at bedtime.
It might sound like alot, but I'm pretty sure I'm still under the 20 oz. She just takes it frequently. All in all she takes about 12 oz at the DCP. I feel like she BFs well in the am and at bedtime, but its hit or miss other times.
When I was home the past 2.5 weeks (furloughed), I BF on demand and she still took about 8 oz from a cup throughout the day. Sine I stopped pumping at work I felt like my supply really went down, so I offered the cup when we were together just to be safe!
