It was actually in my birth plan under "fears and concerns". All the nurses had a good laugh at that. Once LO was out the doctor was like, "well, good news! You didn't poop!"
Nope. I know because I asked the nurses. When they told me no I proceed to inform them that was because I had pooped 3 times earlier that day (I said this with a room for of staff...maybe 7-8 people). Ha.
DD was a week early- water broke after my last snack of the day for GD management. So, yes there was food therefore there was excrement. I try to forget about it but I still remember DH asking the doc, "What is that?" If I wasn't so f'ing exhausted I would have been beet red embarrassed.
"If you're still my small babe or you're all the way grown, my promise to you is you're never alone. You are my angel, my darling, my star...and my love will find you, wherever you are."
Married DH : 7/7/12; 3 fur babies (2 dogs and 1 cat) DS born 9/3/13; DD born 7/22/15; LO due 5/28/18 FS (age 5) and FD (age 2) to become AS/AD very soon!
I really, truly don't know. DH doesn't know either. All I remember is the big nasty gush of fluid after LO was out. Surfs up, man.
Ah yes, the gush. I just remember hearing "we have spillage on the floor." I didn't GAF at that point, it just felt sooo good to have her out!
After DD1 was born my DH joked that there should be signs in the labor rooms for first time dads to never remove their shoes due to the amount of "stuff" on the floor. He was happy he had thick socks.
This time, no poop. Last time I was jacked up on zofran and soooooo constipated. It was like a small football fell out of my ass right before DS emerged. Even the dr was like, "whelp, that should move things along."
@emr22 my DH made sure to tell me how it almost splashed on his new shoes. I was NOT impressed at the time but he was joking. He also got all weirded out bc vernix got on his hand when they put her on my chest. Then later he swore it made his hands soft, lol.
@roostermemphis I love this post...it's making me reminisce. Maybe I'm an odd duck in that I enjoyed L&D
@lokilahve DH's are too funny. With labor for DD1 I asked for a cold washcloth for my head. Because contractions were so bad I had my eyes closed when he put it on. It wasn't until the nurse came in cackling that I realized he had wet a pair of the mesh undies and put it on me. According to the nurse it happens quite often.
I didn't according to DH (and he would have told me if I did). He actually said he was surprised because it was pretty much only baby coming out and he was expecting it to be a lot grosser.
I also think it was due to the fact that I hadn't eaten a meal in over 24 hours by the time DS was born.
I didn't. Pushing time was short on this one (maybe 20 min) so maybe that's why? And it was 1pm, I hadn't eaten since 7pm the night before. With my first, I swear I did but DH says he doesn't think so. There was this moment when I thought I smelled something and it seemed like the nurse may have wiped something up real quick but.. I'm not sure. Eh.. Who cares at this point right?!
So the nurses, my aunt and DH swear I didn't poop, but I got a whiff of poo. I kept insisting that if I didn't, one of them had. No one fessed up.
The weird thing I remember from L&D is that splat sound my placenta made when it was delivered. Then my OB told me, "You make beautiful cords." Ummm... thanks?
Yes a whole lot and my mum was wiping it off!! My hubby saw way too much I thought he would faint but he was such a trooper! I am a nurse so poop doesn't bother me at all, so never be embarrassed ladies ! Nothing moves us anymore
I think I did. Same as pp..I smelled it and felt them wipe...so I'm just assuming.
I also can't wait to go through it all again. I wanted a natural birth but ended up getting an epidural. I'm hoping next time to go natural...even though the epidural was amazing... at least at first.

Omg - this made me literally lol.

I don't think I did, but totally didn't even think to ask at the time. But LO did poop as soon as he came out, all over the midwife, the floor and actually got some on a nearby table too.
Nope none here though I did push out a pretty decent size set of hemorrhoids. I also popped a few times during early labor at home so think that saved me. I was so backed up during pregnancy I was afraid of what all might have came out if I did go on the table
Re: So?
Once LO was out the doctor was like, "well, good news! You didn't poop!"
I'm afraid to ask
