I felt rich a last year, but now with the new house mortgage(our previous house was paid for) and this daycare and worries of college funds, I feel dirt poor.

I think it's possible to be in any category but also be paycheck to paycheck because if you have bill commitments that come close to your total salary, you could be bringing home a good amount but seeing it fly right back out the door

No idea. What's middle class these days? I know people who have multiple expensive cars, vacation homes, lots of nice "stuff", but $100,000 in credit card debt. They look rich, but are up to their eyeballs.
