So I just got off the phone with a good friend who is a pt specializing in infant development . I was racking her brain for tips on things to do with lo while playing to help her enjoy tummy time more and just good things for development in general. Some of you probably know these things and some I know are already working with therapists, but wanted to share for any other clueless first time moms like me lol.
1. Stop using boppy during tummy time once they hold head up, instead roll a towel lengthwise and put it under theirs chest.this allows them to put more weight on their upper body and arms. 2. Lay lo on side and play that way, placing toys in front of him or her and encourage to grab 3. Lots of games that encourage the to reach and or kick ( think baby gyms) 4. Patty cake and any other play that encourages them to touch hands to knees from lying on back strongly recommended
5. If they seem to always turn headache retain way, rotate them often towards whatever they are looking at so they develop neck strength both ways and avoid flat spots
Ok that's all I have , sorry might be redundant for some, but I always get good info from you all,so I wanted to share .
