The name battle begins!

DH and I finally started talking names seriously since we now know we're having a girl.

I LOVE the name Lyla...he likes it but is stuck on Abigail with the nn Abby.

Abigail doesn't go with the middle name I wanted either...Blaise (too many "b's".

What's a good middle name for Abigail? The only family name we have that I like is Ruby...but I'm not sure it goes with Abigail.

I love Lyla! My husband and I just ended our name battle! We had three picks
Lyla Faye
Scarlett Noelle
Aurora Noelle
We wanted Lyla, but it just wasn't sounding right for this one, so I wanted Scarlett, but my husband was meh, then Aurora which I didn't love.
I finally said to him that he named child number one... Then he told me that the name he chose sounded right and I knew it... Which it did, DD's name is perfect for her! Then later he came to me and said Scarlett sounded right this time, so we finally agreed on Scarlett!
I still hope I get one more girl though and I will name her Lyla! Soooo... I'm biased, go with Lyla!

How do you pronounce Blaise? I keep saying blase in my head, but that can't be right. I really like both Abigail and Lyla.

In my head when I see Blaise I think "Blaze". No idea if that's right though.

Exactly right! It is pronounced like "Blaze" ....as in fire. The middle name, we decided will absolutely be Blaise as a nod to my late uncle that married us. His name was Blaine. If this was a boy the middle name would have been Blaine, but Blaise is a girlie version.

I'm reaaaalllllyyyyy stuck on Lyla Blaise. And DH loves Abigail Blaise. She just feels like a Lyla to me...and it means a few things including "dark haired beauty"...which is perfect because she will absolutely have dark hair (like literally no possible way she could be blonde). Plus, Lyla is less popular.

Guess I have to wear him down! Haha

I shouldn't have ever told DH what Abigail means (a fathers joy)...because he swears she's going to be such a daddy's girl and that its perfect just for that reason. Lol
