Snugabunny or Snugamonkey?

I'm working on our baby registry at Babies R Us and have read so many good reviews about the Snugabunny swing. I'm not much of a character/animal person for baby gear, but figured I can handle one animal item, especially if it's as great as they say. Then I saw the Snugamonkey swing online at Target and now I can't decide between the two. I like that BRU has such a great return policy for registry items, but I'm worried the light color might get dirty more easily. Is there a reason why so many more people get the snugabunny over the snugamonkey (Or even the other animals)? I know it's personal preference, the baby won't care, and that I'm over thinking the whole thing, but it's who I am lol. What would you recommend?

  • I bought the monkey, bc it was available in the target store in town preventing me from driving out to the burbs where bru is.

I liked it and it wasn't too ugly to have in my living room. My friend is using it now. Functionally the swings are the same.

  • I think I saw the snugabunny on clearance at Walmart yesterday. I personally vote for whichever is the best deal. Then again, I got my snugabunny swing off CL for $50 so maybe I'm just cheap ;-)

  • The snugubunny has been out longer (snugamonkey only came out last year) which is why it is more popular/well known. If I am not wrong, Target exclusively sold the snugamonkey too when it was new which is probably another reason. Other than the pattern on the seat and the mobile, those swings are pretty much identical. Whatever swing you get, be sure to get one with an AC adaptor that plugs into the wall - if you get one that runs on batteries alone, you will spend a ton on batteries.

  • We have the monkey simply because DH liked it better. We just saw the snugapuppy line at BRU and probably would have gone with that if it came out earlier.

  • We have the Snuggabunny because it was the only one available when DD was born. The fabric is removable and cleans easily. The only time I ever cleaned mine was between #1 and #2 and it never looked dirty.
    This. It stayed very clean.

  • Also, if you don't like animals/characters, I think the snugabunny is much more neutral than the monkey or the puppy.

This. We had one that ran on several D batteries and that bastard sucked them dry fast!
