washing pajamas

Do you wash lo's pajamas every time he or she wears them? Up until now, I have, but I was sitting here and was just thinking about it, and I'm thinking I may start having him rewear them before washing. I wear mine more than once. Part of why I was thinking this is that he's outgrowing all of his warm pajamas, and I'm going to make him more and was wondering how many I should make.

Re: washing pajamas

  • DD wears a long-sleeved onesie and a sleep sack. She only wears the onesies once before I wash them, but wears the sleep sack for several days unless it gets something on it.

  • I wash his pajamas every day and use the sleep sack for a few days before washing it.

  • Every night, she eats breakfast (and sometimes lunch) in her pajamas. I stocked up at Carters so she has plenty of fleecy pajamas.

  • I always attempt to use them for two days but then she eats breakfast in them most days so it is usually a different pair every night.

  • Yup, same here. He eats breakfast in them so they are usually destroyed, so a new pair every night. He wears his sleep sack more times than I will admit

  • We do two days of pjs here.

Then and now. How did my boy get so big?

  • We use them for two days unless he pees in them for some reason.
  • A wears his pj's twice before washing unless there is a poopsplosion or he peed through his diaper.

  • until they get dirty, which is a maximum of two times. Except my toddler just wore the same pajama top 3 days straight, day and night, because she loves it so much. It was a holiday weekend with no plans so I didn't fight it. MOTY.
  • DS also eats breakfast in his in and also makes a mess. But if he didn't I'd definitely reuse them for several nights.
  • I put his pj's in the dirty laundry each morning because they usually smell like pee.

  • Wait, OP you make pajamas? Are they cute? Do you sell?

We eat in pjs here too so they go right in the hamper after. We reuse sleep sacks a few times though. But don't ask me how often I change the crib sheet!

Hahaha. I'm pretty new to sewing, so whether they turn out cute or not remains to be seen.
  • DH and I discussed this yesterday!  We think she can get two wears out of them now that she isn't a baby who spits up all the time.  I think unless there is a bodily fluid on it or she makes a big breakfast mess, she'll wear them twice from here on out.

Sleep sacks usually go most of the week.  They really don't touch her skin, so unless there is a pee leak, she can re-wear many times.  We change crib sheets once a week, too.
