Flame away- but please help

So we have been slipping a little bit of prune in my LOs bottle to help with some occasional constipation issues. Now we are having issues getting him to drink at all...the only time he wants formula is if it has prune in it. Any suggestions??

Re: Flame away- but please help

  • Nothing to flame here... Try another juice maybe? I would just stick to 100% juice that does not have any refined sugar in it.
  • Loading the player...
  • I've been doing actually a teaspoon of prune. It mixes in. He just is more interested in solids than formula
  • No advice here sorry but i know where your coming from, the pedi put LO on pediasure to gain weight now its so hard to get her to take formula.
  • I would say cut the prune juice out of the formula bottles completely. Only formula for feedings. Between feedings I would offer an ounce or two of diluted prune juice. Keep the flavors separate and see if that helps. He WILL eat that bottle when he's hungry, don't stress over that!
  • Problem solved :) he had been fighting through a cold and I think wanted the prunes because he could catch a hint of sweet where as the plain old formula was just boring. Now that he is not sick any more he will take the bottle either way. Thanks for your advice ladies! P.s. We have started cutting out the prunes anyway just so that he won't always need them. An extra sippy of water seems to curb any bowel issues
