Introducing our sweet baby girl!! (YTIK birth story & PIP, duh)

Say hello to our sweet baby girl, Ansley Claire!

Short story:

Arrived at the hospital to start our scheduled induction at 40w 4d. At 11:35, just minutes before I was to start cervadil, my water broke on it's own and I went into labor naturally. AMAZING. Got the epi around 6:30am at 6cm and did not verbally assault anyone this time. Started pitocin at 7. At 7:30 they called my OB and by 8:30 I was ready - but my OB was stuck in traffic!! He hauled ass, re-broke my water, and within 3 pushes our second miracle entered the world.

Ansley Claire weighed in at 7lb 7oz and is 20.5 in long at 9:12am.

She has dark brown hair that has a little wave to it and dark blue eyes.

We are so, so, so in love with her. Especially big sister, Aubrey!!

Long story:

I arrived at the hospital at 9pm, fashionably late for my scheduled induction. After all was said and done I was in a room and receiving my needle for my IV at 11:30pm when I could have sworn I peed myself. It isn't unusual for me to pee myself, so I chalked it up to pregnancy and nerves. As soon as the nurse left I hissed at DH "Quick, help me change out the towels, I peed the bed!" and he laughed at me. As soon as I got up I saw blood on the bed and freaked. Ran to teh bathroom and peed but couldn't stop. We called the nurse back in and she ran the test and called off any meds until it was confirmed. About 15 minutes later the contractions started, and by started I mean came fast and strong! I totally forgot what labor is like, but then again they had to break my water with DD1.

Contractions got worse as the night went on but I was more terrified of the epi than anything so I rode them out. By 6am I was cursing and shivering in pain. I decided to call for the epi before my pitocin was set to start because I knew it would only get worse from there. The anesthesiologist was absolutely wonderful to me. But it still hurt like hell and I screamed out the f-bomb twice. I cried like a big bitch, not gonna lie. The epi kicked in and I felt like super girl.

They started pit a little after 7am and called my OB to be on his way. By 8am I could feel the pressure with every contraction increase. Although I was dilating all through out the night, baby girl remained at -1 station and would float up when pushed on. So when I complained of pain they upped my epi and lowered the foot of my bed to help baby girl progress down and thought nothing of it. At 8:30am I was complaining of pain and pressure that I couldn't bare anymore. They checked me and immediately called for the pitocin to stop and for me to shut my legs tight. My OB, who I am completely obsessed and in love with, was stuck in morning rush hour traffic. DH was on the phone calling his friends on duty seeing if someone could find my OB and escort him to the hospital! Fortunately my OB arrived just in time.

He had to re-break my water and I was gritting my teeth in pain from all the pressure. I requested the mirror but after one look I asked them to take it away - still sad I didn't get to see my child enter this world but I saw myself poop so I had enough LOL. After three contractions and a handful of pushes she arrived!!

Recovery has been amazing thus far. Knock on wood!! I did have a very minimal first degree tear, but it's nothing compared to my first birth. However, cramps have been total hell this go around and feel like contractions when I am nursing Ansley. STM's, be warned!!

Just a little update on Ansley - she was diagnosed with jaundice 30 minutes before we were set to go home yesterday, on the 10th, so we are enjoying another night at our hospital. She is having a hard time getting teh hang of BFing and my nipples are paying the price but every time she gets a little better. The lights are making BFing much, much more difficult since she can only be off one of them for 30min max. We are hanging in there, though, and determined to find our groove!
