Are your ears pierced? If so, how old were you when you had them done?

I got them done when I was 13. I hated being the only girl who didn't have them and it took an act of God (well nearly) to convince my dad to let me get them done.

I have never had my ears pierced. My mom never wanted me to growing up, and then I just never did. I am thinking about doing it for my birthday next month, though.

I am betting that I am the only no vote in the poll. :P

DD has already started asking me, but I told her she had to be in First Grade.

I was 10. It was December 1992. Don't ask me how I remember that. My grandmother took me to the mall to have them pierced and my dad was livid.

I still have them but I hardly wear earrings. I won't be surprised if they eventually close up.

Yes. I was a baby when I got them pierced but they got super infected and later found out I was allergic to nickel. Got them repierced when I was 8.

I will not be piercing LO ears. I will wait till she is old enough to decide whether she wants them done or not.

This is probably a UO but I'm not a fan of infants getting their ears pierced. I got it done when I was 9 and it was kinda great, felt like a right of passage.

I got mine done at 5 ish and got 2nd holes at 28. The 2nd holes closed up because I'm lazy.

I will not get my girls ears pierced until they can take some responsibility for caring for them and ask for them. When we do it will be a special day when we will go out to lunch with the girl cousins and aunties and have a "Ladies Day" as that is how my mom did it for me and all my girl cousins. We felt like "big girls".

I got them pierced when I was 9. My aunt took me to the mall, and my parents were so mad. I got second holes in junior high, and a cartilage piercing when I was 21. I still wear all the earrings all the time.

I think I was about 7 or 8. My sister (a year younger than me) got hers done while I was at my friends bday party. I cried and cried because she was younger and got to have them done before me. My mom took me the next day.

Mine are double pierced; the bottom set I had done when I was 8, the 2nd set I was 12 or 13. I very rarely wear earrings though.

Think I was between 7-10 when I got my first ear piercings.. Now I have 9 ear piercings.. First original ones are now stretched.. I enjoy them

I was a baby (not sure exactly how old but not like a month old or anything). I got a second hole when I was a teenager and didn't have any issues but when I got my cartilage pierced at 21 that hurt like a bitch!

My first holes were done when I was a baby, and had second holes done when I was about 12 or so.

I'm not sure when I'll do LO's ears...I am certainly not in any rush, maybe in a few years.

I was 10 years old with my first piercing. My dad kept saying I was too young but then he went and got his ear pierced (slight midlife crisis) and told me he felt like a hypocrite and let me do it. Got my second at 14 and third at 16.

I have 3 holes. 1st @ 3 months, 2nd @ 16 years, 3rd @ 17 years. Funny thing is I begged my mom for months for #2 & 3, but I haven't worn earrings in those in a while. They are still open though.

I was 11. My mom said that I could get them pierced when she felt I was responsible enough to take care of them on my own.

I was 6 weeks old. My oldest daughter got hers done when she turned 6. I waited until she was old enough to ask me for it done. Plan on doing the same this time too.

I was 5 the first time. they got infected and closed so I had them repierced. then i got seconds and then thirds.

I had it done when I was 10. But didn't take care of them and they got infected a bunch so I let them close up. I got 3 piercings in each ear when I was 17 that I still have.

If I had a girl I would get them done as a baby. But I don't and never will, so...won't be an issue for me.

my mom took me when I was around 7 years old for my first piercing. I was 14 or so when I went to get my second holes. Then I got a 3rd set, and a 4th hole plus the cartilage on top on my right ear a few years later. I let the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th holes close up a few years ago. I only have the original pair and the cartilage one still open.

Yes. I think I was around 6. Begged my mum to get them done. I remember they pierced one side and I refused to let them do the other side. Lol.

I now have 3 on each side but only have earring in 2. Third is probably closed up by now.

I will wait for my girl to decide on her own if she wants them. I don't want to make that decision for her. To each their own.

1st set at 12 or 13, it was a special day with my mom. We went to Clair's in the mall lol. 2nd set was sometime in HS. I had upper cartridge in HS but that closed up. Now I have a middle cartilage and the same earring has been in it for about 6 years.
My second set has closed up multiple times and I've repierced them myself. Currently I have diamond studs in them that I never take out (mostly because they were a bitch to get in there!)
I'll wait till S is old enough to ask and take care of them herself. I'll make a special day out of it just like my mom did (except not at Clair's with a 16 year old and a piercing gun)

I've had them pierced since I was around 1. Too little to remember. I went w mom and grandma. I am so glad I did it that way bc I wanted 2nd holes at 13 and totally wussed out. So if I didn't have them pierced I am not sure I would.

I really thought I looked cute w earrings as a baby. Small gold loops or studs. Very dainty.

I had my first holes done by my moms friend when we were on vacation without my dad at 6. Got my second holes at 12 but they closed. Then at 17 I went to a shotty place in Santa Ana that didn't ID and got my second ones redone. And third holes put in. One of the third holes is closed but all the others are open. My front holes are not sensitive. But I were diamond studs in them all the time. My second and third holes are sensitive so on only pop those in for special occasions. If I ever have a daughter I agree with others I'd wait until she asked for them and was old enough to take care of them.

I had to wait until I was 13. I felt like the only kid without earrings when my mum finally took me. I got my 2nd hole at 16ish on my own (now closed) and my nose at 19 (also closed but I wish it wasn't somedays).

I was in the 5th grade for my first hole and 8th grade form my second. I also got my cartilage done I think I was in high school. I only have my first hole now. I let the others close.

I'm the SS I got mine pierced when I was 8. I had little mermaid dangly earrings and was upstairs listening through a vent. Needless to say I yanked my head up and the earring was ripped out of my ear. Ouch. It healed and the holes closed up and I got them pierced again when I was 12.

First holes were when I was 5 or so.
Second, third and fourth holes were late middle school/early high school

First and second cartilage were in college.

I wear a very very small silver hoop in each hole.

Got first hole at 8. Mom waited until I wanted it and could take care of it myself. I think that's our plan for little girl now too. Got two more holes in high school but haven't put anything in them in a few years, may be closed now....

I got mine done when I was 3 (almost 4 really). My mom told me I couldn't cry, promised I wouldn't, but one big tear fell. I remember trying to suck it back up before she saw. I remember getting a sucker too! I have two others, but can't remember how old I was-maybe 12 & 16?
