    Ugh! So not what I meant with the word "trend"....Sorry. I know that made me seem idiotic. I swear I'm not... I guess it was for LACK of a better word. :( I am just saying that I think that generalization is unfair to mothers who simply can’t breastfeed. It wasn’t that long ago that breastfeeding was simply "unfashionable."...don't know if that is a better word? Somehow that generation of bottle fed babies managed to survive. There are plenty of bottle fed babies out there who have become healthy, productive and intelligent members of society! Life is about a lot more than how you were fed as a baby and sometimes I think its unfair for women to have to feel so down on themselves because it didn't work out or if a woman chooses not to breastfeed, it shouldn't matter.

    My UO is that I do not think breast milk is the magical cure all. I find it obnoxious when someone is asking for help and the same people keep suggesting breast milk. Ex:
    "I have shingles, what should I do?" "Just rub some breast milk on it and it will clear up by morning!!!"

    It clears up a lot though.  I don't think it will fix everything, but it does help cure a lot.

    This. I would rather my little guy be into chess or science instead of sports. My family actually told me he has to play hockey (we are Canadian). If he doesn't know how to ice skate or swim he is not Canadian. I can't so either of those things well and I'm pretty sure my passport still says Canada.

    This. I know I've already ranted about people claiming foods to be trends. I actually hate the word trend. "I not going to recycle because it's so trendy now, everyone does it". That's not a fucking trend, it's called human evolution. Society changes how they do things as we learn. Get over it.

    Edit: sorry I didn't even finish reading the other posts I just got upset by the word. My step mother uses it every other post on Facebook so it gets me boiling. ☺️

    I know they work really well for most babies, but I can't stand the white noise apps. I got through 2 minutes of the Baby Colic song before I was about to go insane. Kudos to anyone who can stand it more than 5 minutes.

Don't play FIFA in the mornings if it is going to make you late, or play with your daughter instead!

    To add to the commercials, I hate how sexually suggestive a lot of them are, the new Trojan one plays in the morning . The mms are very guilty of this

    Interesting argument, I never thought about it but I'll have to agree... to an extent. Personally and religiously, I don't care who get married or to how many people because like I said, it doesn't affect me. Polygamy would raise financial questions I would think (gov taxes/healthcare options). I'm not saying it should be illegal because of financial reasons, but new laws or regulations may need to be put in place to support those types of marriages.

    On a moral standpoint it is quite the double standard.

    My reasons against polygamy would be how they tax and effect our institutions.  One example is Healthcare - is one man going to have 4 wives and 20 kids under his family policy - what will this do to my rates?  Now I know the Duggars for example are doing this already and legally, but they are few and far between.  Legalizing polygamy could lead to this being much more common. 

    Also, if it was legalized, would it just be for a man to have multiple wives or can a woman have multiple husbands.  Can those within the marriage have additional spouses created a whole web of a family?

    Gay marriage is pretty straight forward, it is still two adults and their children.  Polygamy opens the door to so many unknowns.

    If you mean sex Ed than I disagree to a point, many parents don't teach this or wait to long and there are girls and boys who are uneducated like being able to get preg while on period and such.     My SIL just had the "talk" with her 10 year old cuz she looked on his iPod (i think this is way young for one btw) and saw he had searched 10 year old naked and had visited porn hub as a result. This happened while I was oh so it explains why he was a little awkward around me all of a sudden

    If they don't get it at school or from you they will get it from friends and media. I plan to approach the subject biologically little by little and at an early age so they have a general understanding before they hear it from others.

    My UO has nothing to do with the act of sex. Gender identity and sexism is an entirely different topic. With all the different belief systems out there I would rather my son learn this from his parents.

    Polygamy would be really hard to regulate.  Henderson, you make a really valid point with healthcare rates but, one thing that I have always wondered about Sister Wives is, in the eyes of the law, those women are single women with mulitple children so, do they qualify for Medicaid, WIC, etc (gov assistance). 

    I have always wondered if they receive this. 

    For a long time I have wondered how society can justify saying no to one man who WANTS to have multiple wives and children and take care of them but cannot legally do so but there are men out there who have multiple kids with multiple women and don't take care of them and this is "ok".   OK meaning not illegal.

    Polygamy doesn't bother me a bit as long as it is between all CONSENTING adults. The ones marry off children and women against their will should not be allowed.

    I think any adult human who wants to marry any other willing adult human should be free to do so.

    I hate black licorice. Like candy corn, but would do just about anything for caramel corn. Like the really good kind that is still warm and the caramel is a little buttery. Yep. Yum.
