  • I don't like the baby leg warmers. This will break my mother's heart because they seem to be her favorite thing. but I don't get it. They look incredibly uncomfortable, and we live in Texas. There is never a need to warm a baby's legs where pants won't work. MAYBE if you have a specific event like 1 yr pictures or birthday where they make a cute outfit, but apparently people put them on their kids on a regular basis. They look dumb. Your kid's legs are like 8 inches long and full of cute baby rolls, leave them be.

I don't get why grown-ass adults care so much about Halloween.  When I was a kid, sure, it was great getting candy and stuff but now I could really care less about it.  In fact, it kind of annoys me having to answer the door a million times.  I've been happy that the last 2 years we weren't even home on Halloween.

I didn't get to celebrate Halloween from 8-18, so it's my guilty pleasure. My parents turned complete religious freaks and Halloween was "the devils" holiday. They also didn't believe in spending more than 15 dollars on Xmas gifts, which normally were stuff I needed(socks, shoes, and deoderant). So I tend to go all out for both. I love decorating, shopping, and really love spoiling other people.

    Edit for stupid autocorrect.
Even worse- my mom went back and forth on whether or not it was the devil's holiday so we would go all out one year and then the next year... nothing. It was very confusing and lame of her.

  • Oh that potluck one triggered mine....

I hate potlucks (unless it's a family/close friends thing). When we do them at work or other events I don't participate. I can't eat the food, because I don't know how clean their kitchen is, or if they washed their hands, the food, etc.

It freaks me out. Some people are dirty though!!
Just like I know the repeat offenders, I know who brings what so I'm picky about what I eat. ;) I still judge the lazy repeat offenders even if I wouldn't touch their homemade food.

We have one guy at work that doesn't wash his hands after using the toilet and doesn't put the seat down...I won't even use an ink pen that he's touched, let alone eat food he brings. Ugh.

Pants work, but I'm lazy and leg warmers make diaper changing sooo easy. A dress plus leg warmers are perfect. I love them.

I'm sad because I think leg warmers are very girly, so I don't think I'll be able to use them much this time. The whole dress + leg warmers obviously won't work for DS.

I bought some leg warmers for DS (they're red/blue/yellow/black stripes with dump trucks on them).  My DH thinks I'm crazy and that they are ugly, but they will be super easy when DS is just wearing a T-shirt or onesie for diaper changes.  No pants to put on and off.

Aww this makes me sad. I just ordered like 6 pairs off of Zulily the other day and already have like 4-5 pairs for our DD. I can't wait to put them on her little smooshy chublettes :D It definitely makes for easier diaper changes if you ask me.

Ditto!!  And since we discovered we basically have the same family last week--- I think we're sisters!

I'm really hoping our LO is born on Nov. 3.  That's our trick or treating day here so I wouldn't have to answer the door a million times.  And if LO is born on Halloween I might be inconsolable for a long period of time.  (My MW and I have already joked about changing the time of his birth if he's born on Halloween to make him born on Oct. 30 or Nov. 1.)

2 years ago we were still at the hospital with DS and last year we were in Italy.  Most years, we just go over to MILs house because that's where my niece and nephews go trick-or-treating so we walk around with them.  Saves me from buying candy and passing it out and overall being annoyed.

I love reality tv & fast food and I am not ashamed!

This could be a FFFC or a UO, as I know most people don't enjoy these things. My ideal night would be McDonalds and the Real Housewives.

@nciesla there was a special on TLC about people who are extreme holiday fanatics and there was one guy that was obsessed with his inflatables. It was nuts! When one would "die" he would have a funeral for it. I hate inflatables but this was quite impressive!
    I think I love you.
  • @wedding06 Fast food...is so BAD but OH SO FRICKEN GOOD!  I can hardly go into town without hitting at least one drive through.  Guilt and indulgence go so well together, no?

Hands down baby legs are my favorite baby clothing item.  DH's too!  When we found out we were having a boy I asked him if there was anything in particular he wanted to get for him.  His answer: babylegs.  Dealing with pants in the middle of the night when you haven't slept for 3 days?  Not gonna happen.  Really I think what is ridiculous is putting tiny babies in fancy outfits.  Dresses with lace trim? Overalls?  Why do that to a tiny baby?

If you have MORE than one...you're just the worst.
I hate that inflatable crap!  I agree.  It is totally tacky.
  • My UO is that I hate baby registries...people should be able to pick what they want to give the baby, not what you dictate they should.    BUT that's just me, I definitely know I'm the odd one out on this one.

Good, I'm not only heartless one ;) I have here and there but more recently nope. Give to get and if it's your first post -hell no.
but wait, they've been lurking since 1st tri!  All the morning sickness has prevented them from participating.  I'd ::eyeroll:: but my eyes are too sore.
------------------------------------------------ They try to get involved but everyone ignored them! Solution: post maternity pics, preferably semi-clothed. Edited for quotes.
There was a HDBD pic this week, from a poster I didn't recognize (not the one you're talking about) that was also semi-nude (bandeau top covering the chest and a skirt). I was shocked no one commented on it.
Oh yes, I saw. She kind of looked like Amy Winehouse. I literally had to sit on my hands because I was so tempted to say something. I have SOME self-control.
I was thinking Jacqueline Laurita, from RHONJ. :)
At least she posted in HDBD and not a new thread "Look at ME!"  I now must go find that thread!

Anyone else notice that the girl who posted the pinup pictures of herself also posted them there (page three).  A double post?  Someone was really looking for some attention.

I think there should be an age limit (20y.o or younger) to be allowed to say things like totes, amazeballs, ridic, adorbs, etc. Most of me thinks this isn't unpopular, but I hear so many 30+ women saying them that part of me thinks I'm in the minority
How funny.  My UO was going to be I think there should be an age limit on the expression "cray cray."  Grown ups just shouldn't say it.
