Did your LO's dr say it was important to do stretching/massaging exercises after a tongue and/or lip tie release surgery? I have heard both...our doctor told us it wasn't necessary and he hasn't seen one grow back. Just curious!
I was told to do stretching 4 times a day for a few days so it didnt "grow back". The upper lip was easy enough but under the tongue? Forget it! I got my finger under there and kind of moved it back & forth a bit but getting in there to pull it back was mission impossible.
We went back for his checkup yesterday after two weeks and the dentist said all looked great but that a little bit of his frenulum had grown back (nothing to worry about tho). He's happy, our nursing is MUCH better and he can stick his tongue past his lips so this Momma is happy too
Second thought: maybe it depends on how it was done? The dentist used a laser so it cauterized immediately and we were told to do the stretching. Might be different if a scalpel was used....
