How late is "late"?

My period was due yesterday and it didn't come. Plus I was all sick and puking and headachey.
We aren't trying. We've been using condom (which makes me feel like I'm in high school for some reason).

Should I test or wait until its another couple days late?

ETA: are you more likely to get pregnant if you've been pregnant before? That's probably the dumbest question ever...

  • Mine are regular too. With Hayden I took a test on the day after I missed my period (which would be today) and got a bfp.
I am just hesitant because we've been using condoms every time and we've been using them correctly. It took me two years to get pregnant with Hayden.
What are the chances that a few swimmers broke free and found an egg, y'know?

It sounds to me like you're sick. Illness can cause your period to be late. Another likely scenario is that you ovulated late, which is very common even with people who have a regular cycle. If you ovulated late, then your period will appear to be late. You can test if you want to or wait a couple of days, it's completely up to you. If I were you, I wouldn't worry just yet.
This.  I am pretty regular and I know that from charting.  This cycle has been all messed up and I ovulated later than I usually do.
  • What @MissMusic said!

And @hijoi I hate to tell you, but there is a much higher rate of condom failure than 1%....

Indeed, 18% is much more accurate.  One of my four pregnancies was a condom fail, and I was a grown-ass, married, BTDT adult.   ;)

In other word... Go POAS, @hijoi.

  • Okay... Pee on a stick it is!!

    18%... Sweet Jesus...

We were going to wait to TTC #2 (#4 if you count the stepsons) until after we moved and settled in.

  • We were not using protection, but it took us a long time of charting to get pregnant with Robert, and then got pregnant again after having sex twice.

  • @jfresh - does the app make you take your temp and stuff or just track your periods? Cuz I was looking for an app to track approximate ovulation without having to take temps. I'm lazy like that...

I am really relieved @thepinksuperhero told me about the fertility friend app. Hopefully keeping track with that and condoms will be enough!
Love that app!  And they recently did a major upgrade so now you can have all sorts of fun themes.  Mine right now is the beach!

This was us too! 18 months of hardcore TTC for Olivia and then DH is home from deployment for 2 days and BAM! Twins.
