When exact ally can I find out the sex of the baby and also is it true that if the heart rate is higher that it's a girl... I am just really hoping so lol

is there other ways to pre guess ?

Between 18-20 weeks is standard. The whole higher heartrate has been debunked, sorry!

There is a value you can look at on the NT scan bloodwork, the beta hCG MoM. The value is 19% higher in females than males. The baseline is 1.00. The value with my son was 1.02.

I hadn't heard if the hcg at the nt scan but that is something I'd like to see!

Someone mentioned the other day that the NT scan with bloodwork may also be able to tell you the sex of the baby. Not sure if this is accurate. Your anatomy scan at 18-20 weeks will likely be the time you find out what sex.

you can find out as early at 16 weeks at a ultrasound place other than your doctor as they won't determine the sex until 20 weeks. Studies have proved that there is no correlation with gender and the heartbeat. The other fun way to predict gender is the Chinese Birth calendar. It was right with my first pregnancy but of course it is not 100%. We are hoping for a girl as well as we already have a boy : ) good luck

This board has had quite a few spam/troll posters. Please tell me you didnt picture her referring to you as the kind of troll that lives under a bridge? Considering your profile has very limited activity (2 discussions started), it resembles a typical spam/troll account.

She apologized in advance in the event she was incorrect and she wasnt being rude. After some of the stuff said on this board and TTCAL, I and some of the other women here have little patience for MUD (made up drama), so we are on the look-out for it.

So because I'm new at this it gives people the right to just assume I'm a "troll" and I just had never hear that expression before. Idk I thought it was a rude assumption I didn't know it was a term for a spam person.

Thats the only reason I wanted to clarify. We were/are all new to this at some point and some genuine posts can be mistakenly taken as spam/troll posts. Dont take personal offense, I am sure it wasnt intended to create hostility (just test the waters to see if you were a troll - you would probably have never said anything back if this was the case). Once you have spent some time with us and read some of the troll posts that come onto the board, you will have a much better understanding of where this comment came from.

That's okay I'm sorry I thought it was ment as a rude comment and I did kind of take offense because I'm new and didn't really like that I first trying to start off got called that but I understand now, thank you! I am excited to get to know you too ! It's my first time and I am nervous! No i don't see any of those sticky notes but I noticed people were saying how there was some difference between being on a computer and on a phone and I only have my iPhone to get on.

Some OB's like to wait til 20-22 weeks for the anatomy scan, so don't be disappointed if it's a little later than you expect.

MaterniT21 blood testing (done around 10 or 11 weeks) can apparently tell you earlier than the anatomy scan if you are having a boy or girl. It is meant as an alternative to the NT scan for checking for autism but apparently it returns early gender results as well.

I had no idea about the blood work at the NT scan. Our ultrasound tech gave us an educated guess at our 11 week NT scan of boy with DS. As others have said there is no truth to the HR owt. My son had a high heart rate.

If you want to try and find out earlier, sometimes a 3D ultrasound around 14-16 weeks can reveal it.

Sorry, my fingers were working faster than my brain. I meant to say Down syndrome (trisomy 21), not autism. (plus Trisomy 13 and 18).

We're doing 1st tri screening after 12 weeks with the high tech ultrasound and bloodwork and they said they can make a guess as to the gender but it's not entirely accurate and they get a better idea at the 20 wk u/s.

No worries. I wasn't being a b!tch. I just didn't want people to think one thing and it tested for others. I just got the pamphlet at appt on friday. I am AMA and we are going to do it.

At my place you can but it is via blood work not the ultrasound. They look for a Y in your blood.
