Allergy testing

DS2 had his allergy apt this past Thursday. She sent him for blood work, and said that she would call on Monday with the results. I am sitting by the phone waiting. I am just hoping and praying that it will be an easy fix, we can change our diets, and be done with it all. When she looked into his ears on Thursday, she said they both looked red, and might turn into an ear infection. Of course, lo didn't sleep all night, and had a fever this morning, so off to the ped we went. Home with some Amoxicillin, hoping that we can all get some sleep and that he feels better.

 

Arrrggg ((impatiently waiting for the phone to ring))

    You can do allergy tests this early? Wait are we talking food allergies or seasonal allergies? I thought my pedi said no seasonal allergy testing until 3 and I believe my ds probably had them.

    Our allergist had them run for sessional allergies via blood test. I would talk to then again.

    It was a blood test for dairy, all of the nuts, and environmental allergies. She called back and said that he tested negative to everything. Which is good and bad. Good, b/c he doesn't have allergies. Bad, b/c now we don't know what is causing his terrible eczema, goopy nose, etc. She said that he probably has an intolerance to dairy, and we should still cut dairy out of the diet. I seriously wish that every kid came with their own manual.

    DS had testing done too. Hopefully cutting out dairy will help!
