At the risk of sounding like captain obvious I wanted to share a "tip" for all my May mamas that are having a lot of trouble putting baby down at night.
I had tried this for naps and it never worked so I kind of forgot about it but it worked tonight!
My video monitor has a microphone button on it which I never used until dd was about 3 months old. However, she has had some trouble sleeping the last few days. I call it the anti-sleep trifecta from hell aka teething, vaccines, and the end of the 4 month sleep regression.
Anyway, I had tried putting her down a few times but she was still whining, grunting etc and was wide awake when I walked out of the room. A few minutes later I sang her favorite song over the microphone and bam, she was out!
I know that this won't work for everyone but I just thought I'd share! Sometimes when you are exhausted/frustrated you forget something that may seem obvious. Hopefully this helps even one May mama get some sleep or sanity back!
Re: *possible* soothing reminder
As soon as she touched the crib she started bawling. I picked her up and settled her down and tried again. Fail.
I walked out of the room and grabbed the monitor, sang three times in a row and not a peep! If this continues to work I will be soooo thrilled! I won't bet money on it though
Thanks for the tip
