  I don't see why not. Cream cheese, crab meat has to be cooked, it's not sushi and even in sushi crab has to be cooked as far as I know.

  Yep. Most of the time it's not even real crab, it's imitation krab meat (various fish)

  On a semi related note though, what's the thought on Chinese food in general. I've heard to stay away from MSG but I don't really know if that's just a bunch of crap...

  MSG really needs to be avoided- always. Nasty stuff. Lots of places don't use it at all- just ask! They have to tell you because some people have wicked allergies to it (my friend does).

  I was going to say a lot of places, not just chinese places, use MSG so maybe just ask any restaurant you go to from now on, even though that's a huge bummer. For me, I don't worry too much but that's just me!
